In the Carolinas, we are still free.
Ride to your hearts content.
An ebike that is 750w or less is considered a bicycle.

We’re considering getting a pair of folding r-bikes. Plan to haul/store them in the back of my JKU toad. We don’t, and won’t, go anywhere without our toad.

I like the idea of keeping them inside the Jeep from a perspective of security and protection from the elements.

Tech tip: Many of the drive train components are sourced from the same Chinese factory. The rest is nuance. The list price reflects how talented the marketing team is at convincing people how important the nuance differences are.

I read the article and throwing the 🐂 💩 flag on what you need to spend to get a quality bike. We have 2 Ecotric fat tire bikes that cost under a $1000 a piece delivered to your door and these bikes have lived on a rack uncovered on the back off our motorhome for over a year.
They have performed exactly how they were advertised on the website I ordered them from. I also have had many discussions with other brand owners they shared similar happiness with their brand sub "G" cost e-bike.
As a previous poster said, I also believe most components are coming out of the same place regardless of e-bike brand.

wow - love all the conversation over the topic!

SO we had a very successful trip with our Magnitude and our e bike (Blix Packa Genie). The solution worked so well we purchased another e bike for my wife (traded in the mountain bike) and we are planning our next big trip to Daytona Beach, FL in mid June for my daughters gymnastics meet.

For us it worked as a TOAD replacement as we used the e bike to transport us and our kids to and from the campsite to the town of Crested Butte as well as to hiking trails that were 5-10 miles away (each way). It was so easy riding it around town and back and picking up groceries. If we wanted to go more than 15 miles we simply took the free public transit and back (Crested Butte to Gunnison).

In addition, I used the e bike almost exclusively when we were in Denver Colorado for 3 days - taking it to shops, bars and restaurants and put a total of 65 miles on the e bike during our trip to both Denver and Crested Butte Colorado....it was also sunny the entire time.

No need to reduce my MPG for towing or add additional wear and tear to the super c or my sanity!

With that said we are NOT full time RVers and we tend to take multiple a year trips between 3 to 14 days and our campsites are usually around 10 miles from the places we want to visit so I think this will work for us. ...

Why Choose?

We actually decided to use the TOAD to haul the E-bikes.

My wife has an e bike. I still have a leg powered bike. Depending on the trip we take bike and Jeep. If near town and the beach bikes are fine. But we really like being away from town and going into the forest or Utah sand and rocks.

Mac, The bike rack is by Black Widow. It's a 600# capacity dual motorcycle carrier. I just made a modification to compressed the distance between rails. Shortened it by about 18". And I added the turn signals after I noticed the lights were blocked if I covered the ebikes.

We bought two Lectric 2.0's about the same time. $999.00 and still loving them.
How much you need to spend has to do (sometimes) how your going to use them
The average person is going on casual rides. No need to spend thousands.
