Driveway Camping.

The Missus and I have been enjoying our RV this Summer in an unusual way for us: it has become our "Lifeboat" during a much-needed major bathroom renovation project.
Since the shower had to go: the one in our RV became indispensable!
We also needed a place where she could perform her nighttime dialysis treatments.
I'm pleased to say that the past 8 evenings have been uneventful, and completely enjoyable. This has been the longest duration "camping trip" that we've had so far...
We probably have at least the rest of this week in the RV; and are actually not looking forward to the conclusion of the home project.
Do you think that she'll want to keep sleeping outdoors?

Just more incentive to hit the road when you can....

The entire "Job Thing" sort of gets in the way of things right now...
But this experience has really opened up our eyes!

Glad that it’s all working out for you both. That’s a great way practice full timing. Hope it continues to workout hiccups. Glad it’s working for your wife, my dad had to go through dialysis years ago but had to do it at the hospital so if she can be comfortable at “home” all the better.

Practice for full-timing...
We'll need a bigger RV!

There are a lot of advantages of having a motorhome.... you're getting familiar with many of them.... and getting your money's worth out of your coach!

I get the '8 days is a long time thing' but didn't you just set yourself up to do just that with the other project - the one in the RV? I'm sorry Sir. I don't know what your question is. You finally get what you want and you're asking questions? Hell man, move on and keep on truckin'.

LOL

Hope all is as well as it can be.

Did you need reservations?
How much are you charging yourself per day?
Any trouble with the power pedestal?
Are all 10 points of contacts in place?
Did you decide to make this trip without regard to covid - 19 or social distance?
What about the cats... did you leave them at home or did they make the trip?

It's a bit of a sketchy neighborhood...
The Pedestal looks to be wired into the neighbor's barn...
Covid'-19? ,that's the least of our worries in this Petri jar of fungi...
Cats? They're on the menu!
But the evening entertainment is both amusing and drunk!

Campfires? We have backfires! And the Fire Truck and Police sirens sort of make quiet time seem unnecessary...

We did that during our flood restoration. Lived in our old camper for 8 months while the house was gutted and repaired after a flood. The experience made us realize we needed a Class A for our retirement.

Angry We found out the hard way

We'd love to do this but unfortunately our city has an ordinance that a camper or RV can only be in the driveway (we have a 45' driveway and a 30' motorhome) no more than 24hr. Got our camper on a Saturday, had it in the driveway preparing for a trip the following weekend for 10 days. Got a letter from the city on Wednesday that a neighbor complained and we were in violation of city ordinance. :-(

Exactly! Some busy-body for sure. We reached out to the city after the first letter and explained our timeline. After we got back from our 10-day trip, my wife got an email from the compliance manager saying we were getting a second notice. We had not been back more than 24 hours and have not violated the ordnance since and yet he's gotten three separate calls. We explained our timelines; when we got the MH, when we left, when we got back and when it went back to storage. I guess someone is jealous. We keep a very clean and well-landscaped home. In a middle class suburban neighborhood. Surely a brand new class C can't be that much of an eyesore.

For me, it’s not the city. It’s the HOA. Same result.
(They did “look the other way” when we used it for COVID quarantine)
