Wind blockers for blackstone, dollar store I think they're stainless steel for paint edging 5 inches by 5 inches top is rolled into a circle, they drop onto the edge of the griddle. $1.00 each got 6 work great.

Figured out the problem.
The Coleman connection is something to replace with a direct line to the rv propane.

Purchased this off Amazon, gas flows 99% better!!! YouTube saved me from having to sell my grill and buy something else.

This one I bought is not available now, but there are others like it.

I finally found a use for the Blackstone. I just ordered the 22 inch Pizza Conversion Kit to turn the griddle into a pizza oven. Should be here in a couple days.

I have purchased a 17" Blackstone electric griddle. While I will mainly use it for outdoor cooking I also have the option of using it inside the RV. The 17" electric Griddle come with a lid and has a temperature control. It should work for cooking Pizza, I am looking forward to trying it.

Still surprised you have that metal "brick"...
So is this a $250 experiment or you know it will solve the flame-out issues?

I was getting ready to give it to the SIL until I saw the conversion kit.

The pizza oven actually fits over the burners and encloses the entire burner units so no wind. There is even a plate that closes off the vents on the bottom. Temps inside the oven can get up to 700 plus.

Once it gets here if it doesn’t work as advertised it will get sent back.

Just got the custom wind block kit from Lowe's for my $80 Blackstone knockoff. 4" aluminum flashing... cut and crimp to fit over edge of griddle. Just clip on and use as many as needed to control air flow.

The BS was converted this morning. Having family here for pizza this evening. Update: during the burn off process with a full 20lb propane tank this thing wouldn’t get over 400 degrees. BS says to pre-heat to 700. Will give it another try later but don’t know what to expect from BS.

For flattop griddling I bought a Traeger Flatrock which is far superior in quality construction to anything Blackstone could dream about.

That is sad it is not working for you.
We had a 21" and it worked great solo, never a problem with strong breezes... was just too large for the two of us.
Maybe yours is getting too much/not enough air/gas, in other words a bad mixture?? Before putting it out of its misery, try adjusting things, maybe a bad/dirty regulator or nozzle. It should reach 700° easily... and most(?) people seem happy with theirs.

Good luck!

Second attempt was a little better. BS thermometer read 450 after 25 minutes but an IR Thermometer read 675 across the lower stone and 595 on the upper stone.

Made 4 pizzas, one 12 inch square and 3 13 inch rounds. The square took about 8 minutes and the rounds took about.

This is a better use for the piece of crap Blackstone griddle.
