It's my understanding they all (all grilling devices) operate on low pressure...thus, the regulator that came with the griddle. This adapter simply uses the already installed regulator on the house LP tank, eliminating the regulator that came with the grill. Otherwise, when using the grill on a stand-alone separate bottle or 20# tank, you would need to use the regulator that came with the device. Either way, the gas needs to be regulated.

By the way:
Propane Gear also sells just the fitting for about $25.00
So I ordered one to go with the 17" griddle that I also just ordered!

But since the assembly process involves attaching the regulator and hook-up for the one pound bottles: just set them aside, and nail this little beauty into place!

I have the 17" and the 22" griddles, and have the hose to hook up the 20# tank on both of them. Going to use both tomorrow for a father's day get together.

I gave my new 17" griddle it's first mealtime workout, and it passed with flying colors!
Spam & onions for me, and a couple of hot dogs got the Missus. It handled it with ease...
