Canoe Transport

Hi all!

I can see that we'd like to take a canoe along with us on our RV trips. It seems like we'll have to mount it somehow on the roof or pull it on a trailer. Am I missing any other less-obvious methods? I'm afraid we're going to get too old for the roof soon... ;-) Trailering with our Class C doesn't seem like a great idea either.

Pete

How long is the canoe? Is it short enough to carry it vertically?

Other than that the only other option I see is a Canoe trailer (if you don't want to climb on the roof).

That's the good part. We haven't purchased one yet.

Thanks for the video!

I don't think that you'd want ot put it on the roof: you're probably tall enough already!

What if you could mount it along the side of your rig? Try slinging it just over the edge of the roof up top... You could probably mount some brackets on the roof, that hang over the side...

(This is really me throwing an "off-the -wall" idea into the mix... )

Off the side might make the total width of the rig illegal for most roads.

I've managed to get kayaks inside both of my class A's... Through the side door and laying on the floor.

For canoe - typically longer than 12 feet - best I've come up with is trailer... Or roof of toad (much lower than RV!)

I realize that...
But I'd rather be a bit too wide (Up that high...) than a bit too tall!
