I prefer the petrol-powered ones.

10th Anniversary 01.jpg

Worrying about another set of batteries just isn't my cup of tea...

It's a real beauty!

Why pedal; when we evolved with wrists that can operate a twist-grip throttle?

I also have a Harley and a Yamaha TMax. The Yamaha goes with us on some trips but when we go to some locations they have beautiful bike trails that we like to explore. We got the bikes as addition to not in place of our motorcycles.

We’ve been looking at the Electra Townie Go! I love the flat foot technology but wish for that price point they at least had a suspension front fork.

Sorry I didn't get back to you Kev... We take the batteries off before we put them on the racks and there is no problem. The batteries seriously make them a bit too heavy to lift onto and off the racks. Still happy with them.

I read too many horror stories about people purchasing electric bikes online and when they have a problem they get zero support.

Local bike shops are a valuable resource. They can easily handle any maintenance or warranty issuos and some carry multiple brands of e-bikes. My lbs carries three different brands and price points, making comparison and selection simpler. Lucky to have a great local shop.

We decided on the SONDORS FOLD X.
Since I had to buy five cost was really a factor. We did want something to ride at the beach, trail riding in snow while skiing and everyday riding. being able to take all 5 with traveling was also important. I would just say there's a lot out there, some of it's junk others sell really great stuff find something you like in your price range and type of riding that you'll be doing and enjoy.

Electric Bicycles

https://www.motivelectricbikes.com/ We have had ours for about two years now and still enjoy them. Worth a look for the money.

4 years. Time to update opinions. Pedego is the Cadillac no doubt but seriously looking at 2 Rad Power Bikes for less the price of 1 Pedego. Keep in mind, only can buy a Rad direct so no middle man costs, added shipment, added profits etc. great reviews. Can leave my toad at home depending on the trip. Thoughts?

That’s great until you need repairs. Pedego has 2 year warranty. Wife dropped hers they repaired it for free at dealership. No support with mail only bikes.

That’s a plus for sure. But double the money 💰 can buy four for the price of two.

I’m wrestling with it. By the time it’s done $10k 🤑

Without wanting to sound stuck-up, I truly believe that you get what you pay for. Pedego is one of the oldest electric bike companies there are, with the biggest network of dealers in the country, perhaps the world.

We have 2 Pedegos and 2 Emojo foldable electric bikes. There’s just no comparison — NOT because it’s foldable vs. electric. The quality of the Emojo doesn’t come close to our Pedego. We bought them to take in the motorhome. We don’t intend to ride long distance on the foldables — they’re just for tootling around the campground and maybe an occasional 5-10 mile ride. The Pedegos are for long distance rides.

Once as I was riding my Pedego after spending time on the Emojo I had a bit of an “aha” moment. My Emojo reminds me of my little Fiat 500c. It’s cute, quick, but gutless and can’t go as well uphill as some of the bigger cars on the road. My Pedego, however, reminds me of my Expedition. Rides big, heavy, and feels like a rocking horse. Has power to spare, and will get me wherever I want to go with ease.

My suggestion is to think about where you want to use an electric bike and then choose based on that. We have two because of how we choose to ride.

The other thing we like about our foldables is that we can tuck them away and out of sight in campgrounds. The Pedegos are sitting ducks, and we’re not willing to temp people.

You're not and I take no offence. Electric Bike technology is moving very Quickly. The Rads with New technologies, new lower pricing, free delivery, and....a certified bike company arriving at your door for Free assembling your bike and will do future maintenance. Best Elec. Bike for the $$$ right now. Pull the Trigger and purchase! Enjoy the ride.

It always seems to come down to the argument over price versus features...
I'm from the camp that figures you'll get what you pay for, and the money you save will be forgotten quickly; if you start having problems.
