eScooter instead of Toad?

We're considering buying electric scooters (not mobility scooters) like this:

Two questions:

1. Has anyone used this kind of scooter instead of a car for shopping, etc, while on the road? What kind of limitations were a problem for you?

2. Does anyone have an opinion hauling these on a hitch mounted rack rather than towing a small car?

That isn't too far from my Rad Mini e-bike especially after I put fenders and a rack on the back.

Only got it last summer and only camped with it once (but there are other members here who swear by them).

Although I bet that is a bit more street legal.

The range is a killer as to using in place of a toad. 40 km is not enough, nor is 28 km/h. That may be okay for tooling around the campground though.

I agree with Bob, weather would be your biggest problem, I would think.

We got by with e-bikes and they can go about 20 miles but they just cannot compare to what you could see with a toad. Just imagine camping outside a national park, say 10 miles away. E-bike vs. toad....

Even the tiniest Toad can carry a whole more than any e-scooter.
Due to weight limitations: we found a 2016 Smart, and that will be our Toad!
