First "real" Trip

Leaving tomorrow morning.....heading up thru Niagara Falls....running the Trans Canada to Sault Ste Marie....then down the right coast of Michigan...and then to who knows where? Many stops....hauling the Gold Wing (Homestead Enclosed Trailer) and taking several motorcycle excursions....should be fun....hopefully the weather will be nice to us.....see you all on the road!

BTW, we are planning to run routes 403/427/401/400 thru Toronto to avoid the tolls on the 407.....is this a good route or is there a better way to get from the Queens Highway to the Trans Canada?
TIA

The "right coast of Michigan"? Not the left one?

The right coast (Roger's City, Alpena, Harrisville, Oscoda, Tawas City, Standish, Bay City, Port Austin, Port Huron, St Clair, Detroit, Monroe) is far less traveled than the left coast, however.

The left coast may have more interesting things to see: Sleeping Bear Dunes, Petoskey, Traverse City, etc.

That route is fine as long as you plan to avoid rush hour. If you can make your plans to hit mid-day you should be fine but be prepared to deal with your normal yahoos. If time is on your side take #10 from Mississauga to Orangeville then #89 East to the #400 but if time is on your side you may as well just time your passage mid-day.

BTW, we did that route a few years back and had a good experience at Bell's Point Beach campground in Sault Ste Marie.

If you're near Caseville, MI the first of August, they have a Cheeseburger Festival that goes for nearly two weeks. A must attend event if near the area. Outstanding little township! Campgrounds fill fast and many people have yearly leases on some of the camp spots. Even if you just make it for a day..it's worth it...parking is plentiful everywhere.
