Several years ago I was full-timing and working. This moron I worked with asked did I really live in my Rv full time, I said yes. ( had a 40' Tuscany with 4 slides) The moron asked what I did when the weather was bad, I replied same as you, I go inside. He was condescending and by now I was pissed. I asked what do you do when your electricity goes out, he said he got out flashlights and lit candles, I said I just went to the dash, started the generator, and went back to what I was doing before. We lived near the coast of SC so I asked what he would do if a Hurricane was coming, he said he would go to the store and stock up and hope for the best. With a big smile I said I would pull in the slides, raise the jacks, hook up my jeep, and then get out of Dodge. After some thought he decided maybe living in an Rv wasn't all that bad. He's still a moron!!!

I LIKE your story ! People who are condescending regarding the RV lifestyle just don't get it...and probably, never will. There is nothing like kicking back, away from home !

If the weather is going to be "ugly": self medicate with your favorite brand of "Adult Beverages"!
It won't improve the weather; you just won't care so much about it!

One thing that I learned (the hard way) is to check the temperature. If it is going to freeze, disconnect the city water hose. It will freeze. Make sure you have some spare water in your fresh water tank. I always keep mine 1/3 full.

Also cary an ice scraper for the windshield. I found one in a truck stop with a long handle.
