Heading Out For Trip #2!

Leaving out this morning for trip number 2! Very excited of course. Short drive to Stone Mountain, GA; about three to four hours. A friend has camped there and said it's very nice.

You will enjoy the rich culture this park is based on. Sad they make you pay for park admission when you're paying for camping also but...its a one-time fee. Make sure to do the riverboat cruise and...if your stomach can take it...the cable car system to top of mountain. The train ride around the base of the mountain in a 1940's locomotive with open passenger cars is the bomb!! They used to have a huge killer laser show at night blasted over the carving on the side of the mountain...not sure if they still do that. Just outside the gate is the Village German Restaurant and Bakery...food you'll die for!! Crab Cakes are my favorite. Enjoy the trip.

Have a safe, and fun-filled trip!
Please take some pictures for the rest of us!
We're heading out tomorrow morning for Narvon, PA. , and will also keep our cameras well-exercised.

The laser show is still on Saturdays. We have looked at the website and brochures and there is much more here than what we thought. Since we didn't pull a car, we were happy to find out they have a shuttle from the campground to the park. We are looking forward everything. Thanks for the info!

Had a great drive here. The Axis rides very smooth and comfortable. Traffic was heavy on 285, but not bad for Atlanta. The spot is close to level. We have Anderson levelers that are very easy to use. I ordered a Camco EZ Level, but forgot to get batteries! Maybe next time! The spot is gravel and does not have a pad, but is quite long and we are able to sit at the back and look at the lake and the mountain. Excited to be here!

Home!

Got back this afternoon. Relaxed, did nothing, sat in the loungers, watched all of the other RVr's, chatted with nice folks, ahhhh, nice trip!

The water we put in the toilet bowl would leak down sometimes. Stopped by CW of Chatt (on our way home) they looked at it and ordered a ball valve and seal and will call when it comes in. We were there a total of two hours. Other than that, everything on the coach worked.

Got 8.3 mpg. We did run the generator for about 70 miles on the way down. 313.5 miles total.

Can't wait to take a big trip!

Glad to hear that it was a great trip!
Mark,
The Spyder is gone...

But we rented a golf cart (ours should be here in three weeks...), and spent our time driving around the park sightseeing...

Nice! We didn't rent a car this time. We are talking about getting a trailer for the Spyder or a dolly for the Kia Soul. It's auto, so can't be towed flat.

Are you home now? Would you recommend Narvon?

We really liked it!
It was a very "pretty" park. About 90% of the sites were actually in the woods, so you felt as if you had some privacy from the folks around you.
Downsides?
Each site didn't have it's own garbage can: you had to carry your bags to where they had their dumpsters parked.

That's about it for the stuff that we weren't 100% happy with!
