I want to start a new thread about nothing, and let it run...

On another forum, long ago, they had what was called
'the worst thread ever'
It allowed me to ask a question like
'I don't know what those extra 3" around lights are on the front of my axis'
And someone would answer.
But:
The thread was allowed to go off on tangents.
'the fuse is here'
'OK, if you know about fuses, where's the led fuse?'
You can buy the led's on amazon as part #xxxx
How do states that only allow four forward facing white lights feel about that ring of led's?
What led's would you buy to see up the black tank?
My black tank needed a patch, I used xyz
Etc etc.
No one was mad about a direction change or that it was fifth wheel info pertinent to everyone, or that someone asked about laying an AGM on its side during an led discussion.
It cut off at 200 posts and then wte2 was started.
It was the place where I learned absolutely the most stuff about everything.

Just a thought I had because the Bellemont AZ CW closed today, forever, and it wasn't worth making a new thread about, but should be told.

Mods can tear this out if they're against it.
But I sure learned an awful lot from the tangents that thread went to.

Well it dont sound like its "about Nothing" but "about Everything".

So anything useful should be posted here? Tips and tricks?

Well some of the other threads (IMO) are already like that (ie: Jerry's Hurricane mods and Axis 1,2,3 etc) but are very long now.

But perhaps this will be more full of facts than conversation? Either way Im sure it will be proven useful.

I take them out and pressure wash them, but I'll tell you what helped a lot on the white stuff:
I bought a ryobi 18v glue gun. Prior to having it I used a glue gun about twice a year. Now that I have a cordless one I use it many times a month.
As an experiment, I thoroughly coated the positive terminal cable connection with hot glue.
With the cable hooked to the battery, I just buried it with clear glue stick so I could see what was happening.
It is as clean as the day I applied it and no white stuff anywhere.
(of course it won't work for you now that I've said it out loud, but it sure worked on my 4x4 toy.)

Picture of toy included since this is wte.

Anything that keeps the oxygen away will work.
I use axle grease, after the connection is clean and secure, it also makes it easy to disassemble.

Cleaning consists of baking soda mixed with some water and a wire brush.
Terminal connecting surfaces; as long as they have a metal shininess, I am happy, if it's sandpaper or a knife blade to scrape at the surface.
At the metal to metal mating surface of the connection, I use a deoxidizer grease.

I've had the 18v since they first came out and have had great luck.
I have all the original tools purchased in 1999+- and just about 3verything else.
Last week I bought two hand drill for a dollar each and often find the Sawzall at 5 bucks.
In the rv I carry their:
Flashlight
Drill
12v charger(I won't need it now that I have an inverter)
120v charger
3gallon wet dry vac
And their very nice tire inflator that you lock the chuck to the valve stem, set your required pressure on the inflator... And walk away. It turns itself off at your preset choice of pressure.

I do not baby the tools and I've only burned out two. An 18v chain saw that lasted about 20 minutes, but the two chainsaws I have now are doing fine, and I think the other was a brand new Sawzall a friend borrowed and smoked out.
Hundreds of hours maybe a thousand, no problems.

My all time favorite is the ryobi devour.
https://www.amazon.com/Cordless-Tran...gateway&sr=8-1
It will, no exaggeration, pick up a foot long 2x4 board, a dust bunny( called a ghost turd by some of you) and a dime and a finishing nail all at the same time(see YouTube vids). It's magic I tellsya!

You Win!

Yeah, back in the '90s I bought a Toshiba set; drill, sawzall, circular saw and all still run great but Toshiba stopped making any that I can find. Over the years with Milwaukee and Makita, corded and not, they've held up, but never a hot glue gun. It's a great idea. You've done well with Ryobi.

The python argues that it's all really relative however they are snake skin...but it was a distant relative so no problem.

The snake says 'hey y ain't I beenin swerved(snake is from Jersey)?

The bartender says:

I had a horrible, intermittent to near constant, screeching noise coming from whichever seat I wasn't sitting in when we were headed anywhere for any length of time.

I fixed it with these:
https://www.amazon.com/Super-PDR-Ali...NsaWNrPXRydWU=
She uses them as cushions to get the back of her seat just right....
They are little miracles at curing noise.
My merkur had these hand pumpers built into the seats.
