We both did the speed limit all the way up.
Wyoming tomorrow, maybe.
We did county roads when we could. Some were prrrettty scary up in the mountains.
Lots of potato farm roads.
Was there last year and had lunch at the Golden Burro Cafe/pub

Stayed at the second campground North of Buena Vista Co however
Lots of ghost towns in that area if your interested

No issues climbing Wolf Creek towing the F150 and staying with traffic as well

Love that area, enjoy

If you want to test your rigs climbing abilities, I recommend CO-149 Slumgullian Pass between Lake City and South Fork, or OMG hill on US-14A through Lovell, WY. Great US Forest campgrounds along the way. Both are plowed in the winter and are passable all year around.

We're in Casper Wyoming tonight
Harvest host.
Requested yesterday at 5pm confirmed by 6pm.
Golf course country club .
We're parked in the employee parking lot happily using the generator.

Its a Damn desolate drive once you cross i70 headed north(we were on i70 for about 9 miles. It supersucked)
We passed 4 vehicles from leadville to Casper(except on i70) , three passed us, didn't have a vehicle within many miles of us on our side of the road anywhere except the small towns.
Three hour runs without a car within sight...and sight was often 10 miles....

The mining museum in leadville is brilliantly executed.
One of the best we've been in, in years.
We were the only people in the five story museum.
We did not go to the antique mall in leadville. Someone at the harvest host site next to us said it was more old bottles than he had ever seen anywhere, so we passed.

Top of the world Ma!!!!
This isn't a Harvest Host but we're very likable and persuasive.
Dinner and drinks(for us) was the cost of this site.
By dark there won't be a person within miles of us.
Free to us. Unavailable to most.

(It's a 270 degree view. It doesn't look like it but that's a 30foot drop off our front wheels are on. The pronghorn antelope are as thick as sparrows. We've seen maybe 300 if them since we parked.)

Gillette wy to Miles City MT, 2 vehicles passed us we saw no other vehicles on our side of the road.
Staying at a vineyard tonight. Made an eearlyday of ut and are settled in here at 2pm.
Bought $99 worth of stuff from them. Trinkets and gifts for friends.

8 days on the road, no reservations, no problem, no RV park.
We did 123 miles yesterday. I think about the same-ish today.

Our ninth day on the road today.
We saw more vehicles going our way today than any other day.
Three of them in 120miles.
One was a chateaux rv I let get in front if me at a yield sign in town.
60 to 45 to 60 to 45...in a 70mph zone(and her fullside slide was open about 4 inches)
A Buick I followed for 30 miles or so, and we were passed by a pick up.
Miles City wy to Dickinson nd.

Didn't make a reservation anywhere because we don't know where we're going until we flip a coin at a crossroads. Call them at noonish, stop there at 4ish.

None of our travels have involved Yellowstone or other such. It has included many national forests and grasslands.
We've crossed interstate hiways but have only put 9 miles on them the whole trip.

Last night we were on many acres with 4 rvs, tonight we're on about 3 acres with 3 rv's.

Don't know about cleaning.....but one of the best battery water maintenance items I purchased was the Flow-Rite MP2000 Qwik-Fill 2 Battery Kit with Bulb. I have two house batteries.....one being tucked away......the Flow-Rite watering cell system works beautifully! Great purchase in my opinion.

just my 2 cents
Great advice!

I don't think I have ever posted pictures of our passenger seat.
On my expeditionary vehicle I use a molle vest instead. The vest didn't fit the thor seat well.
The vest is filled with chow and water and a mylar tent and blanket, fire starters, three or four kinds...emergency stuff. In the Mojave you dont want to even find a tree to potty under without taking it. One wrong turn in one of the arroyos and you'll maybe never find the truck again.

Rv kit, not so much. Binoculars, granola bars, two water bottles, umbrellas, a knife, flashlight, yadda yards. Molle on both sides for phone and garbage and ChapStick and stuff.
It stores lots and lots of stuf and it's just a grabnyank to take it with you.

20 minute holdup for construction.
We're first in line. Only one other car showed up behind us.
Thats one car every 20 miles.

Hey Duck,
Looks like you have some body armor strapped to your seat.
Thanks for the trip reports.

Not the slightest problem so far except the two cheap cheap 24 series batteries are a bit weak so the inverter can only cook frozen two dinners unless the v10 is running.

My tire valve extensions are holding air, my tpms is not a distraction, my stock rear suspension isn't wandering all over, my instant on water heater is performing as it should, my water pump isn't noisy, on really good roads my 24.1 is as quiet as my king Ranch, no drawers or cabinets have opened themselves while We're driving, my grey tank is exactly where I left it, the black tank doesn't stink, magically my rv does the speed limit and I've yet to lead a parade of angry folk for 100 miles, my dash ac and my roof ac keeps up with the record heat, we haven't used the suislide(hooray for 24.1's), and I can level+- the vehicle in seconds by using a leveling app and setting my phone on the floor next to me while I adjust my parking position.

Rainx spray window cleaner is a marvelous thing.

My leaf spring front end is handling flawlessly.

We've caught a couple of side-wind drafts in knolls that would knock anyone into the next lane, but these two lane roads at 70mph while meeting an oncoming belly-dumper doing 80mph haven't caused us to even bobble.

The macerator and 3/4" hose is a gift from God.

Frozen dinners for us.
22,000 miles and we still have never lit the stove or bbq(been there, done that, prefer not to).

And campgrounds are not full nor require a month/year advance notice if your goal isn't the goal of 1,000,000 other campers.

The picture is the view from the 24.1 door as I stand inside the RV.

We're in Moscow Iowa.
Hwh headquarters.
They can't install lockdown jacks.
Mostly the fault of the generator posutuon and partly the 4x4 spring hangers.

I'll buy their controller and run 8 ton harbor freight type 36" hydraulic cylinders right through the floor.
Behind the passenger seat.
Behind the driver seat.
Under each bed near the rear spring hangers.
The 24.1 has such luttle overhang I can place them at the front of the rear springs.

Seems easy enough.
That'll be 32 tons of lift.

Re-inventing the wheel? And thru the floor?

I don't think there's another choice right now. Research will dictate, but all builders jacks can't lift the extra four inches I need. We'll Possibly head to Indiana and check with another factory.

They'll still bolt to the frame, it's just that they are long enough to do the lift and that rrquires height, and the height is allowed by going through the floor.

I'm also considering telescopic jacks and out-and-out upside down hydraulic car jacks(4 harbor freight 4-tons will do it.)
While heavy and bulky they won't require going through the floor.

I’ve got the HWH straight leg jacks
And sometimes, even when completely extended, I need to add blocks under the feet to increase the height. And that’s with standard install and minimal ground clearance when retracted.

Plus you don’t want to have them completely/100% extended while parked for a while.

So I can see how your elevated frame needs the extra Jack length.

Upside down jacks can, but not always, start to creep slowly out of the cylinder. So if you go that rout, you will have to keep an eye on them. You will not have an automatic warning system to let you know that the jacks are not fully up. For jacks through the floor, you can weld up a box to cover them that bolts down with a gasket. Neat and clean.
