Since you mentioned planes:

Here's the Best grandpa in the history of grandpa's.

Baling wire was a luxury to him.
He taught me at about 8 years old to always use the back of your hand to test a live wire because 220v will close your hand and you'll probably smell up the place as you die.

All that's left of him lives in my shop. I am the only living person who knew him.

Little guy, 5'4" maybe 120lbs.
Always said he was a cook. He couldn't stir water let alone cook.

I think his nose-art painted horsehide/coyote flight jacket and his size probably meant he was a tail gunner.
The jacket always hung in his closet. No tales told.
The flag was his pall. I'm not sure he's happy about the display and I'm told many medals are missing. I didn't do the display, but I'll sure preserve it.

I'm a Damn good grandpa because of him.

I salute your grandpa.

Many that lived in our neighborhood would never say anything but some would.
Mom once flew back to Poland to help neighbor lady to try to find her young brother that was left behind when the germans where arriving and they had to flee... 60 years later she still had nightmares with her young brother calling for her...

My grandma next door neighbor was one of those that would not say anything.
Grandma was old and having some problems to find the bathroom light switch at night and one day we went to visit her and he had made a switch at the door with scrap metal... She just needed to close the door for the light to turn on...
His back had several scars of bullets...

$1030 out the door to tint ALL windows including windshield with 70% ceramic tint.
Film is wide enough to do the windshield in one piece.
It's in the shop and three guys are on it.

New windshield, new tint, zero deductable.
And they're going to take that stupid privacy glass on the door off and throw it away.

I'll be happy if the tint does half of what the reviews here say it does.

My father in law only told me that he was in an MP unit and that is why he became a police officer when he came back. He landed in Normandy on D Day A lot later than he would have since his unit was told to go out and enjoy themselves the night before they were to load onto the transport ships. He felt sick so he stayed in his bunk. An old German bomb not found next to the theater they were in exploded and killed his entire unit. He was assigned to another unit that landed later in the day. He never spoke about the war except to say that none of them were angry at the Germans. He did say that in Germany that they did get angry but, not at the Germans. He showed me a rifle he took back, brand new from a German armory that they broke into. It had the German swastika etc. and then in another area "MADE IN THE USA" I kid you not. After he died all his metals were discovered and pictures were sent to all the family. His brother served in the Army Air Core in south Asia. He was going to be sent back to the states and was hanging around for a week after the war ended. They needed an officer to inspect out lying bases, so he volunteer to do it. His plane crashed and he died. He was brought back and buried at the Punch Bowl in Hawaii. We went there to see his grave. My father in-law raised his son.

The husband of that lady my mom tried to help said on Christmas eve all soldiers where given a bottle of wine and a pack of cigarettes...
Since he didn't smoke he exchanged the cigarette pack with another soldier for his bottle of wine...
Then he realized that if he had a nap the two bottles would disappear so he drunk both at once and went to bed...
He said the only thing he remember after that was people kicking him to get up but he could not because of drunkness....
Later when he finally was able to get up, people where bringing back the bodies they could retrieve from the field...
His entire division was wiped out during early morning on Christmas day.
Not a single one survived that night.

I wish kids in school today would hear those histories...

I'm at Wal-Mart.
Spousal unit is inside, I'm waitng in the truck.
I'm watching someone with a new Rivian electric truck wander the parking lot on foot for the last 40 minutes while his truck charges.

How little does someone value themselves/their time to be a slave to such a thing?

Whatever you make an hour as wages, double it as free time, add it to the cost of filling that faddish truck.

Is this the right thread to complain about my local CW service department? Asking for a friend who can't get them to call him back even though they have had his motorhome for over a month now... They won't even call me to tell me (errrr...my friend) what they have or have not done in said month...

This is the place for your complaint.
Load up, drive there, give them the 3 dozen tacos you bought them, smile shake their hand while asking them about your vehicle.

Last chance for romance!

My
Original, not litho
Never seen in public, litho rights are the owners
Penni Anne Cross
Full size canvasses
Are headed to auction if no one here collects southwest.(I do not collect southwest. Estate auction purchase)
These aren't the 'half-breed' flouncy hair media driven stuff. It's her only ever landscape and the other is a native child with lambs like she did in the 1970's.

My
One of one
Michael Godard
Giant sized
Diver down
Signed giclee
Is also going.
(An auction purchase.)

Trades up or down, for anything of interest.
I don't know what interests me until you tell me of your toy.

I'll trade for a dog-doo if I really like that doo.
These have zero value to me when trading.
Damn expensive as cash.

PM for pics.
Valentine's day is coming up.

When someone comes here with:

My rv has been in the shop for months due to an HDMI cable I know I'll never use.

This rv made my wife really car sick in the short test drive but I bought it anyway.

I have cancelled many trips because my rv has been at the shop for 8 months due to the awning motor not working....

Should we ask what the owner does for a living?

What they don't know, we know that. They blatantly tell us. We blatantly try to help once we wring a few bits of info from them.

We might need to know what they do know before we can proceed with helping them.

I'm kinda lost about some of the situations some people have put themselves in.

1973
Height of shag carpeting.
Huge angular plywood and 2x2 engine cover(with the first drink holder you'd ever seen)
Asbestos sheet
carpet foam
Deep shag, orange and brown.
Highlighted by the torch burnt plywood with a Frank Frazetta(look it up) magazine cutout of a woman and her sword and pet dragon under that 1/4" thick clear gloss urethane.

I love these uv pens.
Like hot glue, but not hot, no warm up, no spider webbing, wont burn you.
Sets almost instantly upon using uv exposure built in lamp.
Once you get in the habit if using it you'll use it often.
100's to choose from. I started with 4 for $12 blue ones and was perfectly happy with them. Type into google/amazon:
Uv glue pen.

Bonus
Fixes fingernails quick quick
The uv light easily finds any scorpion(look it up)
Caulks well, waterproof, fast handy, convenient, on-hand.
A shot of this in that tail light lens screw hole, then send that screw in.

We use old floppies as coasters in the Shop. Everyone old enough has a story, everyone not old enough gets told a story.
(The idea was accidental. They were a gift from someone who doesnt know 1962 from 1982 but knew I collected 1962 stuff. I cherished the gift and left it out to draw conversation. Some young-un said my tetris 'coaster' was cool. Now they are indeed, coasters. )

I have assembled this kit, bought the fancy oil plug and the spill proof filter remover.

When I move the battery to the front passenger bin I'll go ahead and do this oil change thingy.

The odd clear part is the lower half of the funnel of which I show the packaging.
That part replaces the oil fill cap on the engine and locks on exactly the same as Ford original equipment cap.

The pipe is stainless steel radiator hose. It comes with very fancy inserts to,adapt,to,the clear piece and the filler head.

Drill a hole under the passenger mirror, install that locking water cap, and you can fill oil from outside the vehicle without even opening the hood.

All of this came from Amazon (except the idea)

Aside;
I LOVE my garage pvc interlocking, no glue, floor.

Hey Duck I’m intrigued by this…. Do you have the link for the locking cap flush mount… and did you ever install? Not only is changing oil a pain… But when you’re 6’4”… Trying to crawl up underneath in the hood area is difficult… The hurricane hood goes up… But not enough that I don’t have to be a contortionist to get underneath. Thanks Bradley/Cakeman
