The bin is what we removed. The inside of the orange line is the new size, the bottom of the bin is the old size.
It's an added 3.2+ cubic feet.
16 Guage metal, weighs maybe 40lbs.
Will hold a literal ton.
It'll be bedlined and insulated and carpeted and have scuppers and heat and lights with remote keyfob lock.

I think, but must measure again;
The removed bin will take the place of the wet bay bin which soon will have nothing in it but two valves inside their own small enclosed secluded segregated space against the rear wall.
It should add another 2cft+-.

We travel very light.
I sure don't need the space but as plans are drawn and THEN looked at and redrawn this space has pretty much developed itself.
I had no plan for a bigger wet bay, but I now have this unused bin from the prior mod, and discovery under the rv leads to even more space mods.

Air horns steam whistles and a trombone.

I don't remember if I posted prior about my airhorn.
Just a goofy project because I had all of this stuff just lying around.
The trombone is a recent addition and I need to make the sounder for it.
For 20 bucks at a thrift store I figured it would add a bunch of bass.
That brass whistle empties 26 gallons of 120psi air in just about two seconds.
The shiny ones and maybe the trombone are destined for the 24.1.
The tank becomes a 20gallon water/foam fire extinguisher.
The whistle is headed for the peak of the shop and can/will answer the grand canyon train when it comes by here.

Didn't work on the 24. 1 today.
Yesterday I superclean3d the black tank in anticipation of adding the electric actuators.
The double tornados sound, no poop(ha!), like a cartoon jet airplane spinning up.

Worked on what will be the tow'd of I'm ever silly enough to tow one.
Changed the departure angle by bobbing the rear bumper about 6 inches.
It'll let me do a pedal stab and fly off a ledge instead of doing a stab and scoot.

It's a big difference in angle. My approach angle can be greatly improved but I can usually lay my front skid on something and bahrump it up on things.

I've received a few pm's about my oil filter wrench.
This is the one I bought.
I haven't used it yet.

Found 6 cubic feet of added storage space.

We travel very light, don't cook, eat frozen dinners, haven't turned on the stove or kitchen sink in 20,000 miles.
But)
I have added 10 cubic feet of space using very heavy (relatively) Guage metal.
The one on the Bench is 24x31x14 and goes between the frame rails just behind the hitch. I could have squeezed out another 1.1 cubic feet by going outside the frame rails. The other is the passenger farthest front bin between the man door and the front wheel.

The unfinished rearbin will be accessed by a slam latch hatch on the floor of the basement, through the rear end hatch. It'll be a fine place for jumper cables and traffic cones and other hopefully seldom used items. Heated, insulated, carpeted, lit, power outlets when they're both finished.

I'll do a full thread when it's all done.
I think, in total, I'll have about 22+ added cubic feet when I'm done. About 33% more than stock and each bin will easily carry 1,000lbs(not that I will, but it could).

I am really a pretty hard core foody.
Subscribed to all the magazines like Bon Appétit, and we watch guga(steaks only talent he shows but he's very good at them) on youtube.
Home grown tomato, basil, homemade balsamic and homemade mozzarella from unpasteurized milk is the main cooking agenda this summer. Caprese salad with home grown pinon nuts.

I think I have some food pictures in this thread somewhere.

We learned to eat those hormel no refrigerate meals while fourwhelling and frozen things in the rv.
Everyone else would be building a fire and jacking with it and prep, and we'd either be eating out of our 12v lunchbox while exploring ghost towns and never stop the blazer to cook or prep(12v lunchbox is a marvelous thing that's been around since the 1910's) or the inverter powered microwave and coffee pot(we have an inverter and microwave and 110v coffee pot in the little blazer too) if we are stopped. They're wishing potatoes would cook, we're over the next hill exploring.

See that shiny spot just to your left of the orange bushing?(you don't have an orange bushing, that's part of my light bar bracket)
It's 1/4" deep, almost all the way through that plate, where the hood hinge rubbed on the frame horm cap. It's the size and depth and curvature of a fair sized fingernail.
This is very new, wasn't doing it before the last trip found it while building brackets to mount the front cap to the frame(mine was never mounted. The brackets were there, screwed to the frame, but never attached to the cap.)
The hood hinge ground down the frame and ground down the bottom of the hood hinge drivers side not as bad as the passenger side.
I guess this is where our new squeek came from.
I can't find anything that's changed about the hood.
Maybe I didn't have it latched right....

Home built creamed Chipped beef made with homemade whole milk unpasteurized butter, topping (homemade white bread) toast, topped with red skin-on lumpy mashed potatoes.

I have enough starch in me this morning to hang wallpaper.

Does anyone recognize the plate pattern?

Take a look at your pics in post 102 of this thread, seems like it may have been an issue longer than you think.

I don't know how I missed it.
Well, actually, it was pointed out to me. I just wasn't seeing it.
I put a literal bandaid on it. I slapped some foam tape on it.

Someone here pulled their hinges off entirely and now have slots on the bottom.

You're in it now. The link doesn't start on the first page of the thread.
My modifications are interdisperesed in this thread.
The yadda yadda I do in this thread is an attempt at humanizing some of the rv owners who might have an interest in life outside of rv's.
We don't have a coffee shop/breakfast club type thread on this forum, I thought this would be it.
It seems to fail miserably.
I thought it might build some tangents.
I've thrown in just about every hobby and interest possible... And I got Squat.

I will, a year or so from now, start a new thread at 2am so I don't get interrupted and post the 250 or so mods, all in a row.
