Bathroom mods.
I figured while I was in there I might as well get some pictures.

The remote on the toilet paper rack is for the vent fan.
$8 remote on Amazon.

The sink extension uses the same hinges as the kitchen counter extension.
The kitchen counter extension fits perfectly there but isnt water proof.

The shower rail allows the shower head to stick up into the skylight.
The splash guard at the shower wall vs curtain corner has eliminated leaks there.

Bi-fold door Vegas 24.1

Thank you! I measured two 25" doors in order to close the "hallway" at both ends. But then the doors would overlap. I think your "24" inch would solve the overlap and I could make up the difference with moulding or foam trim.
What material did you use for the doors? They look great.
Thanks, again. I'm starting on them tomorrow - before my double heart scan and stress test on Thursday. Ed V.

The newer model 24.1 comes with those doors.
I didn't have do do a thing.

I think if I had to do it I'd use some 3/8 or 1/2 mdf. Its quick and easy and if you don't like it just go thicker or thinner and the hardware will be the same.

Look up
Vinyl car wrap on Amazon.
It's easy and will look great on the doors and with a bit of wrapping of the door and the Bathroom mirror surround, and the bathroom drawer faces, it'll look perfect and high end and one of a kind.
It's seamless and waterproof and adds a very nice detail.
There're plenty of woodgrain patterns available if you don't want to go metallic red or carbon fiiber or something wild.

I have some sample material here but I've given away all my cool wrapped stuff, so no pictures.

My streamline, post art deco, pre mid-century tool box project.(white cabinets will be made to match the center dentists cabinet. They'll have the same detail and top)
I hate that blue. I'm thinking the metallic satin copper or the metallic satin military green wrap.
The red textured carbon fiber is left over from a wrap project. I think that roll is 4ftx 20ft.

Awesome thread. Thanks for sharing all the mods on Dorothy.

-We dealt with poo mountain before - never again, I'm ordering a Tornado.
-I have like 20+ ratchet straps that are in a giant knot that will be going into socks.
-What is the below bit adapter called? I can think of many, many times I'd want one of those.

Also, cool 4x4 conversion. How much did that run you?

4x4 was $13,000-$15,000.
I now have leaf springs in the front. It isn't just a f450 to e450 swap.
I'm now kind of a f750/f450 hybrid with a manual transfer case.

The bit name isn't known but its in the 'real tool's section of home depot and Lowe's. I shortened it myself by pulling off the extension rod. You'll also get a thumb trigger type sleeve with it. If the tool you find looks kind of like mine, it is mine.

You're really really going to like the sock thing.
Its a rag when you need it, a corner cushion, and a white-flag if you just give up.

I have slowed down too much on the mods. I have about 40 of them in the mod box but my head really isn't in the game. CB antenna came in in the mail today. It will go in the box....

Thanks for liking the thread. Some here have made no bones about them abhoring it.
I wanted it to instill a sense of community.

I've just found 200ah lithiums on Amazon for under $900. Bms, no heater, but my battery bin is heated.

Do we have a guess how long three of these would run a 15,000 a/c unit?

I'm only vaguely interested.
Spousal unit is very interested.
Not that we'd run the ac on them, but we'd run an electric heater and microwave.
And
It's a step toward my dual alternator, no generator setup.
My 3,000w xantrex inverter/charger does 450amps.

The ac info is so I can decide if the dual alternator setup is viable without having to run the v10.

To figure how long the battery will last, one can take the amps of the appliance and multiply by 10 to get the amps pulled from the battery bank while it's running. (For a given wattage, current and voltage are inversely proportional and 12 volts is 1/10 120 volts, so multiplying by 10 gets you into the right ballpark.) This assumes you're using a PSW inverter.

Looks like a 15K AC pulls about 11-12 amps running, lots more briefly when starting up, but 11-12 amps running is the most relevant number for determining how long the batteries will last. That's 110-120 amps from the batteries, or maybe an hour and a half if it's the only load. Realistically, perhaps an hour. That's assuming the Lithium batteries used can handle that high of a load.

Missed that you were looking at 3 and didn't notice in time to edit my post.

160 Ah usable if discharging to 80% or 180 Ah if discharging to 90% would be 480-540 Ah total usable capacity. That's 4-4.5 hours of run time for 12 amps of load (120 amps at 12V). How long that gets you would depend on the duty cycle of the AC. E.g. If it runs for 30 minutes of every hour, then it's 8-9 hours.

I found a picture from one of our offroad excursions.
This one is an airforce f4 that nosed into the ground in 1964 or 1965.

Its one of the first places I used a gps to track a debris field.
I brought home the 500+- waypoints of parts found, dropped them on google earth and found the direction the plane came from and was able to locate the bulk of the plane about 5 feet underground.
I'm pretty good at guessing this type of stuff but the waypoints brought it to life.

The round thing is one of the engines.

Do any of you OLD electronic guys remember the name of the shrink tubing we soaked in alcohol so it'd swell up then it shrank around your connector?
I've done a less than perfect, more than perfunctory search and I can't even find an interent reference that it ever existed.

I think I might like it better than a heat gun or lighter .

Also,
Am I the only person who paid $60 in 1980 for the same metal plasma bag(only smaller) that girl scout cookies and potato chips now come in?

I don't know.
The shocks weren't on the rv when I had the coil front end and independent suspension.
I don't have anything to compare to.

It's a dana 60 differential per the cover bolts and a dana 40 per the axle housing.
I haven't opened it up to check ring gear size.

It's a dynatrac custom built.

I'll be in Winslow Arizona tomorrow.
If the poverty there doesn't make you sad....
But
La Posada is a marvelously restored Harvey House train stop/hotel with a secret little 3 star-ish restaurant that is very well staffed.

A true jewel in an otherwise dismally poor stretch of I-40.

Home - La Posada Hotel

It's better than El Tovar(at the Grand Canyon) both food and restoration wise.

There aren't 10 rooms with people in them, maybe 12 guests total.
The fireplace? We have a 1500sqft room to ourselves.
That patio? Ours is the only room to open to it, the other doors are blocked by the gift shop. Its ours and ours alone.
$130 a night(and a good attitude gets you an upgrade).
Lots of rv parking.
We have been promised an hour by ourselves in the museum.....

I'm hoping there's few enough people at the restaurant we can order by saying;
'Tell the chef to surprise us'.

Calamari
Salmon carpaccio
Bison short ribs
Navajo trout
Gorgonzola salads
Is plan B.
I-40 in very sad Winslow Arizona.

El Tovar probably has 600 people there today.
We chose to choose and chose our choosing.
Tovar for lunch if we're entertaining tourists, Posada for us if we're off the entertaining clock.

A place to explore.
Many of you have seen Two Guns Arizona on the south side of I-40.
It's the place that says
'Mountain lions'
On the old wall.

You can drive right up to the place in just about any rv. Videos on YouTube.
The bridge is usable and a part of old 66 that not 1 in 10,00,000 I-40 travellers see.
