The nicest vendor. They appear to run a junk shop. Listings were this wheel, an antique typewriter, the front end from a 80's 18 wheeler, no rhyme to the stuff, single digit sale count...perfect storm.
I sent the money along with enough for them to buy lunch.

I took a big chance at the high-school dance.

Good for you. Haven't trusted ebay for years

Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen) Adjustable Stand | Charcoal https://a.co/d/0GWzdyv

Best 13 dollar dash accessory ever.
Lets you see home cameras, video call without your phone, turn on the electric blankets, turn on coffee without getting out of bed.

About the post above:
I forgot to mention how a cheap wireless battery powered BLINK camera can be placed as a rear view camera, a pet camera or an undercarriage camera.

You say:
Alexa, show me front end clearance.
It'll show you if you're going to clear that curb.

Alexa, show me height clearance
You'll know if you'll clear that gas station canopy.

Alexa, show me the hitch
Back right up to the trailer the first time.

Alexa, show me the front windshield
It'll see forward (in infrared too)even if you have a windshield cover

Alexa, who dat knockin' at may doe?(my best Mrs Howell voice)
Shows your cheap wireless rv doorbell.
(Motion detection also)

Alexa, show me washer fluid level
(Safety Sally deeeelux)

Blink cameras have temp readouts and high/low temp warnings and two-way microphones/speakers(pet hauler deluxe)

Temp warnings Might work in the freezer/fridge too.

That's the reason we use alexa wall switches instead of alexa light bulbs.

I finally had to get the alexa buttons(they look like the EASY buttons at staples)so the spousal unit could turn on the coffee pot without shouting from bed.

When I go into the Behemoth, it's:
Echo, I'm here.
It turns on some lights, my work bench lights and plays
Fly me to the moon,
by Sinatra and Count Basie.
But they're all on switches in case the internet is down.

And I've shut down the motion sensors on the cameras. It's moth season here and they like the cameras.

Amazon days are coming up soon.
Cheap cameras and such.

For the older crowd here:
I had x10(and precursors)way back when, like windows 3.11 days.

On the interstate yesterday got passed by a Jaguar and a Maserati.

Both of them looked as if they were designed by the same 1 person team working for Chevy, Buick, Ford, Kia and 8 other car companies.

A little hatch back with 4 doors. That about sums up the creativity of the day.

Everything looks like a Mitsubishi eclipse spinoff .

Speaking of which:
Take a 3/4 side view look at any year Grand Wagoner since 1980.
You'll never be able to unsee an AMC Pacer once you see it.

Government mandated fleet fuel millage mandates. Cars will look alike because they are designed to have as little air resistance as possible and still meet the government mandated crash test.

I was going do say that and dec3uded to let it go for someone else.

That lack of creativity is everywhere. I work full time as a Senior Copywriter, writing advertising and promotional copy for companies. Most ads, even from fellow copywriters who I know to have a lot of skill and training, are very unimaginative. They follow a formula. I bristle against it at every turn and often get lots of pushback from other departments who don't want the added work of having to accommodate a new idea. Lazy, is what it is.

This is by design.
Creativity requires freedom and freedom is exactly what needs to be eliminated according to the "global" narrative....

Kids today can't even write in cursive!
The simplest and beautiful expression of a person personality gone...
and that at school level!!!

The difference between the freedom of 60s, 70s and 80s and the now apathy, in my view, was caused by two factors.
1 - Globalization mindset and its filthy kids (global warming, etc) took over everything and , professionally speaking, shutdown anything and everything that doesn't comply with it.
if your work or ideas doesn't fit the global narrative, you don't have work.
Ask people in the music field for example...
Or ask a designer that have a good idea for a car focusing on US market only.... it will not go forward. It needs to be "global" ...

So everything becomes soulless...

Italians can't design for Italians, Germans can't design for Germans, American's can't design for Americans, etc and the expression of the human soul in the design is killed...
Human thought was captured and put inside the very small box of globalization, the same way it happened during the dark ages due to a different reason...

2 - Computers lordship: Obviously the simple elimination of freedom would not cut it so something would have to fill in for the lack of brains and here comes computers. An incredible tool that became the lord of its creators....
So if you add to the fact that freedom of creation is gone and you have a single/global/Chinese Mao like directive to be global to the fact that the laws of fluid dynamics are the same everywhere, no wonder cars of pretty much any manufacturer are becoming very similar in appearance.....
If you input the same data into the computer that has the same (global) program, it will always give you the same response doesn't matter if the computer is in Michigan or Frankfurt....

But, since Humans do have a soul, what you see is what I witness with my two teenager sons:
They listen to 60s,70s and 80s music and as soon as they started driving and experiencing what it is, they completely rejected the "green/lithium", etc narrative and started to love V8s...

We need to get back to cursive writing !!!

Best thing in the world for the bathroom… Besides Alexa… We have one in our master bath… We have one in the RV.
Motion detector toilet light. No more complaints from wife [emoji16][emoji16]. This has increased my 3 AM accuracy!

But:
The thread was allowed to go off on tangents.
'the fuse is here'
'OK, if you know about fuses, where's the led fuse?'
You can buy the led's on amazon as part #xxxx
How do states that only allow four forward facing white lights feel about that ring of led's?
What led's would you buy to see up the black tank?
My black tank needed a patch, I used xyz
Etc etc.
No one was mad about a direction change or that it was fifth wheel info pertinent to everyone, or that someone asked about laying an AGM on its side during an led discussion.
It cut off at 200 posts and then wte2 was started.
It was the place where I learned absolutely the most stuff about everything.

Just a thought I had because the Bellemont AZ CW closed today, forever, and it wasn't worth making a new thread about, but should be told.

Mods can tear this out if they're against it.
But I sure learned an awful lot from the tangents that thread went to.
That sounds interesting! I know that I've learned a tremendous amount of knowledge, across the board, just from going back and reading old posts!

What DVD players are good for RVs? I'm looking for an RV DVD that uses a non-IR remote so it can be in a cabinet with the door closed and feed the HDMI distribution to all TVs. THX

I noticed entirely by accident that my previous post (in a different thread) was my 49th one. Geez, I thought I had been more active than that but apparently just reading comments posted by others doesn't actually count as "active". 😁

At any rate, I specifically sought out this thread for my 50th post. Fittingly, a post about nothing. 😁
