Leaking 2.5 Gallon Counter Top Water Container

Well, I learned a lesson the hardway.

This afternoon I went into the Vegas to get a RV book and noticed I had water ponding on the kitchen counter. I traced it to one of those 2.5 gallon water containers most of us are fond of buying for RV use - especially for coffee.

Don't know why it leaked as I had not opened it. But I do recall telling myself at the end of summer - "Self! You best leave that in the sink in case it springs a leak."

No material damage done but I sure wish I had listened to myself.

Wow, that sucks. I sometimes leave a Gal or two of drinking water in the shower.... that way if they bust they will drain away safely. I put down one strip of the anti skid shelf liner so they dont slide around. Easy to remove when you need to take a shower.

Lol. We carry drinking water in gallon bottles in the shower as well. Have had them leak before, hence the shower storage. We donít much trust campground water for drinking.

I'm glad that there was no damage, and the lesson has been well-learned!

We also carry water in gallon milk jugs. We place in shower on an anti-skid bathroom mat. We also have used 2 different 5 gallon camping containers. That is what we are happiest with.
Sorry to hear about your difficulties. Glad you had no damage. RVs can be powerful teachers lol.

We carry extra water, in frozen form, for drinking. We're spoiled by our great well water.
Freeze it ahead in our home chest freezer in the quart bottles that fruit juice (such as cranberry) comes in. Then transfer the bottles to a big Coleman that we keep in the RV shower just before we are ready to depart. We also store some juice for breakfasts and fresh fruit with the frozen bottles, so it stays nice and cold without tying up our limited refrigerator space.
The frozen jugs were a Godsend when our house batteries died on a recent trip. Even after 4 days most of the jugs were still part frozen. We were able to drink the cold/melt water and then use the remaining ice blocks (kept in the jugs) to keep the 'frige and freezer cold and safe until we could purchase additional ice.
Nine of those bottles fit nicely in a plastic milk crate, that we also keep in the rig for storage as they empty out.
