Longest Trip So Far

Last weekend for our 33rd anniversary, we traveled to Hilton Head Island for four days. 867.5 miles round trip and 9.4 mpg, no tow. I finally had the front end aligned and then a steering stabilizer installed. What a big difference in handling! With stops, it took about 7.5 hours to get there. Very comfortable drive. With my long legs, I'm glad we did not get a Class C.

We stayed at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort. Very nice place! All of the spots are privately owned and rented out. The owners personalize their spots so no two are the same. Concrete, brick, or large paving stones make up the entire spot. It is gated and two miles from the beach. Our spot was $100 a night. Most of the coaches were diesel pushers. Our little Axis stood out! But, no snooty folks, everyone was very friendly. We even got a nice compliment on the Axis from a guy with a 40ft. pusher.

Found out that August and September are the hottest months at Hilton Head. We did not lounge outside at all, but did take our traditional morning/evening walks. Used Uber for the first time to go shopping. It was a good experience, both drivers were very nice and cordial men.

We will definitely be going back, only next time in Oct/Nov or Mar/Apr. It was great trip, but with the drive, four days isn't long enough.

Sounds like a great trip. We have stayed there several times and never disappointed. Happy trails.
