Propane Generator

Hello out there and help please, as we are a bit confused.
This question will tell you how new we are to the RV Life! We are taking out 1st short trip in our just purchased 2021 Freedom Elite 24FE with a propane generator and staying at site with no electric hook-ups. With refrigerator running on electric or propane and generator on propane can we run the refrigerator for 2 days? If so, do we run on propane only or through electric from generator powered by propane?
Thanks.

Doesn't your fridge have an AUTO position? If so it will run on 120 VAC when available and propane when no AC available. 2 days should be no problem unless you're camping in 100 degree heat and running the generator 24/7 for the Air Conditioning (A/C).

Yes, there is an auto function. I guess my question is will the refrigerator run on just propane without the generator running, or do I run it on electricity through the propane fueled generator?

The fridge will run on propane if there is no electricity ie., the generator is off. But by turning on the generator, the fridge will turn to electric when set to auto. Unless you need the power for something else such as AC, I would suggest running the fridge on propane or auto. The fridge itself consumes very little propane.also,it is much quieter then the generator.

The fridge uses 12 VDC control power from the batteries whether running on 120 VAC or propane.

Beat me to it... Think of the fridge running on EITHER...

120v electric - which would be when plugged into shore power OR when running the generator.

Propane - which uses your batteries and propane... no other electric power source needed.

That's simplified, but you'll use a ton of propane running your generator.
