To answer the original question about my screen name.
I adopted it when I got into SASS, the Single Action Shooting Society, which with membership you were required to go by an alias.
But that was a long time ago and I do not go to many matches any more.
Since I live in Tennessee, my alias is Tennessee Dust.
So I slanged up on the spelling, I see it as:
10 = ten
s = ess
c = see
10sc = Tennessee

me: 10scDust

I know, I am goofy!

SASS?
I would always take my Super Blackhawk along to the Bowling Pin matches, and have some fun in the "Crank & Yank" class...

Bowling Pins I've done. SASS no. I would like it BUT it's another game that cost $$$. IDPA, USPSA and GSSF is enough.

Smile

Now, back to the original question.

My wife and I are Elvis fans and serious collectors of Elvis memorabilia.
A few years after Elvis passed (1977) someone created a 3 foot porcelain doll depicting Elvis from a photo
of him with his parents when he was 3 years old.
Since Elvis was born in Tupelo Mississippi this doll was called “Tupelo Kid”.

Naturally we had to have one in the collection and shortly after we purchased it, the manufacture of the doll was cancelled.
It has become a bit of a rarity.
When I need a screen name for something fun I’ll use the doll name.

In the infamous words of Paul Harvey, “Now you know the rest of the story”.

Fun thread...When I sold my business in July 18I had to change my screen name on a couple fishing sites. I had been the ScooperDude for 15 years and had used ScooperDude as my screen name. Easy for new people to find me if I was getting some one new since it was on the side of the truck. New name comes form me fishing a good bit and often not catching too must hence MThook. Say it slowly then you'll get it.

Zippy
Friends gave me that name about 25 years ago because they had a hard time saying my last name. I have a good old Italian last name.

My screen name comes from two things:
First, I'm OLD.
Second, for over half of my 35 yer career as an LEO, I held the rank or title of "Chief".

I'm glad you cleared that up for me Chief. I had you a sea-going master chief.
My screen name came from a time when the dawn of main frame computers were arriving on the scene, before Apple and MS. After using line by line Unix, driving CAD on a DEC machine, low and behold a graphics interface showed up called Mosaic. Shortly thereafter email as we know it came about.
Ok enough history, I'm almost as old as Bob D.. Now for my screen name or moniker; it is my initials with two easy digits.
