Travel Pens for pups?

I did a search 1st, and nothing came up.

I have 2 pups that will be hitting the road with me, and I am looking for input as to which collapsible pens y'all use for your dogs. I don't want to use a "tie out" or tether, I want them to be able to run around, as they are used to having a nice sized yard.

I would need something that would work on hard or soft surface. ( IDK why it won't upload my photos properly....)

Thanks

What size enclosure are you looking for?
We've never tied our "Tink" outside: she just goes with us on a tether...
Around the campsite: the Missus either has her inside with her, or she'll be outside with me on the tether...
Other than tying her to us: we treat her about like a toddler.

Which is only fair: she treats us like the hired help!

Hahahahahahahaha, your dog sounds like a cat. LOL

I was thinking I am going to need a few pens to be put together for a decent amount of space, when it's available. I want them to be free of their collars and harnesses when at all possible because they will be "strapped" in while I am driving....

Them's is almost "fightin' words..."

But since she is only five pounds of hair (with 500 pounds of personality...): I'll let it slide.

I know that Camping World sells pet enclosures, and several of them probably can be linked-together to fit your pups' needs.

I know... only another dog-owner would understand!

As I've had the chance to kick this around in my empty head a bit: I think that CW offers some 6'x6' pens in their online catalog...

Some campgrounds I have been to do not allow pens. It is best to read over all rules before booking the campground. Trust me I have camped in several that only allow dogs on a 6ft (max) handheld leash when outside the motorhome.

Yes, absolutely.

I just want to have them on hand for when they can be used.

I will look and see, you can get them anywhere really, was just wondering what other people have used and been happy with, and used and it's was an epic fail....

I use this, might be a little small for your needs- but you can string multiple together. On my list of to-do’s is to fashion a low barrier that will allow the side of the RV to be one wall, and this opened up as the other three. I have a toy hauler and already use this as a single “wall” at the end of my garage to keep the little escape artist from getting on (and then jumping off) the deck.

The one in the link by Kickstand looks just like the one or two we got on Amazon. Started with one then added a second to give them more room. Works great and we don't stay where we can't use this, at least not more than a quick overnight. Jim.

YES, blocking the bottom of the rv is also a concern, while my pups aren't as small as your sweetie pie, there's still enough clearance for them to get under it. Thanks for the link, I will check it out!!

Thinking a couple of these, is the way I am going to go, as I had been thinking from the beginning, they take up less space than plastic pens, for kids or pups, and my mutts won't chew on metal, but plastic would definitely end up with teeth marks. LOL

Thank you all for your input, it's much appreciated!!

I went yesterday with a friend and picked up 5 8 panel pens for a steal.......this should be plenty of room for them, not their current available space, but we're all downsizing so.....

It would be cheaper to just put the kids on a leash.

We have this dog pen. The photo shows just one, but we usually link 2 of these together to give the dogs more room. They are pretty heavy though, and probably overkill for our dogs, who would probably stay inside a pen that was only 2 ft. high.

We've never had an issue with setting up the pen at a campground. Our dogs rarely bark, and they are really only in the pen when we are outside anyway.

We sometimes use tethers when we don't want to pack or set up the pen, but they always seem to get tangled around something.

Sundays at campgrounds should be the day where big people have to sit in those little pens all day with a noose around their neck while the dogs get to run around and play.
