Our Macey comes from the Royalaire lineage. The old fashion large straight back shepherds. Jaida and Capone are also large straight backs.

Yay to Satin Doll and Munpi, they are very special! Where do you take them?

If you ever get to the Florida gulf coast, there is a campground in Carrabelle, FL called Ho Hum RV Resort. They have waterfront sites and have a 1/2 mile of off leash beach. Our dogs absolutely love it, even more than a dog park! We try to go there several times a year.

Dale,

Sheree takes them to the Palliative Care Center, a couple of nursing homes and she has a couple of Hospice Patients she visits with and takes Satin. She started some 11 years ago with our Yellow Lab "Pogo".

I work with the Palliative Care center with their Veterans to Veterans Program; recognizing terminaly ill Veterans and thanking them for their service with a little program, a certificate and pinning them with an American Flag lapel pin. I take Satin with me when requested.

Dale,

Thank You.

I have seen other's on this website that have Therapy Dogs that travel with them.

It is a very rewarding way to spend a couple of hours.

Merry Christmas; wishing you safe camping for you and your dogs.

Doc

Wonderful about an RV; no more kennel boarding. My guys are getting way too old to be away. (11+years and 12+years)

We had two Labs that traveled with us, down to one now. Also have a cat that the daughter decided her mom would like to have for her birthday which hasn't gone with us yet. I'm allergic but I can cope with him so far.

Our last 2 trips we travelled with 2 kittens and a dog and one of the trips was to 4 Paws Kingdom, who specialize in camping for dog owners. Folks thought we were totally crazy for bringing cats to a dog park. Watching those 2 kittens interact with our Collie mix in the RV was hilarious at time.

I am allergic to cats as well but I say the heck with it, pack the Zrytec and load the critters.

The cat is a bit of an a**hole but that's what makes him so cool. He gets along well with our female Lab, he thinks he's a dog it seems. The dog is a professional moocher, even though we don't give her anything she still tries. The cat follows her when she's on a mission but has no idea why. We will be taking him with us for a trial run. I don't see any issues other than he has a bad habit of torpedoing my feet in the mornings.

Meet KC (we adopted him on the last day of the 2014 World Series)
He was a reluctant traveler last summer, as we only took him on short trips.
He has been in the new Axis and gives it his seal of approval...we have claw proofed the couch and front seats.
Ron has made a cover for the steps, for KC's 'box' .... we have our plan in place...everyone has their own routine ! (we, also line the shower floor and place it there) ... all of this add'l info is for those who have not traveled with a cat before !

Size: 7.6 KB Meet Tigger...I am posting a photo of our beloved little girl who passed June, 2014, when we were on an extended trip. She loved to travel and when we were parked, she always laid on the front dashboard where she could see everyone passing by and they could see her !!
She was leash trained and never saw a dog she didn't like !

Hi there,
We are looking to travel with our black lab and 2 kitties. Was wondering what you did to "cat-proof" the couch and seats? Great looking pictures of kitties.
Thanks Dar & Jer

Hey ! We bought aftermarket seat covers from CWorld to protect our front seats...they are not the most cosmetic covers .. but they serve the purpose for when we take KC with us.
Regarding our couch...we have a inexpensive quilt (KMart) that went with the tan color scheme..tucked it into the back of the couch...behind our couch in the Axis 24.1 is an area where tables, legs & ladder is stored...we knew our 'little man' would seek out that area and go to where no man has gone, under the couch ! We happened to have a long cushion we had made for our first motorhome...it was the perfect length folded over on top of the opening..will keep him at bay and give him a spot to lay to look out that side window.
Regarding the inside stair well inherent to the Axis/Vegas models, Ron made a cover for the steps where we will put his litter box when going down the rode...when parked, we will have the shower stall lined with plastic and set his box there with the bathroom door ajar.
If he is like Tigger...he will want to lay in the front window, when we are parked...so we have his 'blankie' to cover the dashboard, again, to prevent claw holes in the 'leather/vinyl' ...
Ron sez our RV is for our cat ! ... the things we do for those we love !
In the Mods and Updates thread, I posted photos of the board he made for the stairwell, if that pertains to your situation.
If interested, I will post photos of the cover for the couch/front seats and that area behind the couch.

Happy Camping !!

We travel with our two fur kids, Bear and Captain. They're Australian Shepherds, litter mates, and love road trips.
