Boondocking on the beach

Anyone regularly boondock on the beach ?
I'm thinking about going and average of 1.5 weekends a month for 10 months out of the year. How would you manage sea breeze related corrosion ?

Thanks,

I camp yearly the entire month of October in Myrtlebeach approximately 100 yards from ocean.

I try to keep ahead of the rust and salt, but it’s a losing proposition.

Only advice I can give is borrow someone else camper.

I agree... it's a losing proposition: even though it's nice place to visit!

TOTALLY AGREE...even at the campgrounds next to the beach...but, ON THE BEACH?...NO. Sell it every year and buy a new one just before the cancer sets in. Rust will invade every metal and alloy fastener inside and out plus your entire underside. You'll see it starting in the first few days. The only thing worse than the slow death of rust is the immediate issues with sand. "Rust Never Sleeps".

Yep...half of the sand is salt. You can lead a horse to water and hold his head under...but you can't make him drink!!!

But you can drown the poor critter by doing that...
If he survives that: he's gonna stomp you for sure!

After 2 years on an island in the middle of the Pacific and 6 years of living in Myrtle Beach I have had enough of the ocean. I got tired of the wind, salt spray, corrosion, humidity, sea gull poop, sand in my shorts, etc. On the rare occasions I have to go to Corpus Christi for family events I wash the coach and toad every day for a week to get rid of the salt residue.

Rent a condo or a cottage: it takes the pressure off!
