2018 Elite suite oil bath hub

Hello Fellow DRV OWNERS.
I just removed the center rim caps to see the oil level of my hubs
I don't see a fill to line like my 2013.

Any recommations?

I also read drill a small hole in the center cap to relieve pressure.
The hole is protected by the rims center cap.

Any recommations?

Does your bearing dust cap not have a rubber plug in the center?

I have not drilled a hole in mine. Trip from WA to SoCal and back no issues. LEVEL ground fill to bottom hole.

Did you order the oil bath?

It looks like you have a newer DRV. Those DRVs no longer have oil bath bearings but greased bearings. Still not clear even if you had oil bath bath hubs why you would need to drill a hole. From my understanding on the oil bath is you fill it to the bottom of the rubber plug whole. And drilling a vent hole could expose you contamination and moisture issues.

They have those on because the thinner white ones that they put on cracked and would fall off. These clear ones are MUCH thicker.

What year?
Sure you have oil?
Old caps were a PVC type plastic, subject to UV damage and just cracking.
Clear caps are polycarbonate, much better quality.

If you have oil, level is bottom of hole the rubber plug is in.
Trick with oil is to punch a hole in the center of the rubber cap with a paper clip to allow some venting.

If you had oil hubs without any oil visible you would most likely have some hot or ruined bearings

For those that do have oil hubs the visible ring around the cap is the fill level as marked or molded in the polycarbonate

You don't want 90 weight oil around or up to the hub oil plug

No hole or pin price is necessary either

If its running that hot you have other issues

Ran oil hubs more than 60 years on many different types equipment , never would dream of poking a hole in a moisture and dirt plug

There are millions and millions and millions of trucks and trailers on the road today. NONE of them come with a hole drilled in the plug, and no self respecting trucker would consider it. Walk around any truck stop and look. Also count how many of them have tire pressure monitors. Find more than 1 and I'll buy you a beer. RVers tend to be older people looking for ways to spend all their money on junk before they die.

Pull the plug. The bottom of the hole in the cap is the fill level.

I was asking if you special ordered the oil bath system on your DRV.

AMZ/OIL 75-90 in their nice squeeze bottle will be better than any 90 wt you can find.

The bottom of the hole is not the fill level, it is the line on the cover

Not 'all' the covers have a fill line.
