If there is no fill line, (VERY common) the bottom of the fill hole is correct

Read what Dexter says

Find a couple hundred more if you like

Fill to the line and you will really have to dig to find a 9k or up axle cover without a fill line

No where in the Dexter sheets you sent does it say what the fill procedure is. Tells you what oil to use and how to apply grease to a bearing, but not oil.. And we are not talking 9k plus axles. I'll take a picture of mine without a fill line tomorrow. Had 5 before this one that did not have it either.
As a non owner how much do you really know about DRV's?

Your link is ambiguous at best.

This line from the link:

“ Bearing Lubrication - Oil
If your axles are equipped with oil lubricated hubs, periodically check and refill the hub as necessary with a high quality hypoid gear oil to the level indicated on the clear plastic oil cap. The oil can be filled from either the oil fill hole, if present, in the hub or through the rubber plug hole in the cap itself. ”

As I mentioned before, not all caps have a ‘level line’, especially the older white plastic caps.

What that link dances around is ‘periodically check and fill if necessary’’.
If it needs fluid it most likely needs service.

The truck videos in the next post are not relevant to this thread.

Not necessarily.

Lot's of diffs say to fill to within 1/4 or 1/2" if the fill hole.

"I" always fill to the hole on my diff covers.

So here is a pic of my "KODIAK" oil bath caps.

Here we go again.... Looks like another poster not knowing that they are posting in the DRV section. And thinking that one way covers every application.

So DRV has some kind of special axle?

What is the manufacturer?

Axles are axles in the same category

Bearing Lubrication - Oil

If your axles are equipped with oil lubricated hubs, periodically check and

refill the hub as necessary with a high quality hypoid gear oil to the level

indicated on the clear plastic oil cap. The oil can be filled from either the

oil fill hole, if present, in the hub or through the rubber plug hole in the

cap itself. See recommended lubrication specifications on page 4.

From Dexter link and axle instructions

And some of think a differential is comparable to an oil bath axle

Hopefully you're aren't or weren't mechanics

You make comments and have only your opinions

Post your DRV special axle lube instructions and prove your point

Look at any oil bath axle instructions. Boat trailer to semi

Did you find a cap or axle that didn’t have a fill mark?

Did you find instructions from an acle manufacturing company saying to fill to the plug?

If you did post it

Do you want people to over fill their oil hubs for some reason?

How about posting the Supporting info, not just your thoughtd

Not sure why you are arguing with us? We have and know these rigs. As I stated before, there is not a fill line on rear differentials. You pull the fill plug and fill it until it starts coming out. Same thing with this set up.
Why do you insist on arguing with me and other DRV members about it? Can you just stop injecting you opinion and move on?

I have filled thousands of cars and trucks to the fill hole. Never had one come back.

How many of those truckers own their own rig, or are they driving someone else's equipment? People treat their own equipment differently than they treat others'. And I'm talking about TPMS, not holes in rubber plugs.

Depends how you define axle.

DRV Tradition and Aire use typical RV axles like you had on your landmark.

DRV Mobile and Elite Suites and optional on Fullhouse use disc brakes, hub/rotor on a spindle, welded to beam, bolted to a pair of shear springs, bolted to a torque bracket which is welded to a journal bar.

A left and right assembly as above are then welded to cross bars which in turn are welded/bolted to the trailer frame.

Or simply put, DRV Suites use MOR/ryde IS and Kodiak disc brakes as a standard feature.
