Flooring issue

Wondering if anyone has had an issue with tile separation underneath the kitchen/entertainment slide. We first noticed the tile had moved about 1/4". The next time we slid it out, this happened. The far right end of the tile had exited through the slide gasket.

Upon contact DRV to inquire how best to proceed until our warranty appt. next month, I was told just to cut the damaged portion off and they'll correct it. I was also told they would give me a tile to carry with me in case it happens again. Huh? Doesn't sound like a permanent solution to me.

If you notice there is a roller bracket mounted to the floor to the left. There is no way I could remove that bracket if I would have to replace the tile myself. In addition to this failure, the tile underneath the drawers to the left of the stove has started to separate as well (about 1/32").

I was thinking about the possibility a securing the leading edge of the tile with a couple flat head screws. Since the heads would be below flush, it wouldn't affect the movement of the roller. Since the tile is ~.170 thick, there should be enough thickness to countersink for the screw head. While it may not be pretty,

While I plan on discussing my concerns at the factory next month, I thought I'd stop by here to get your thoughts.

Appears to have double posted. Probably a user issue

I would suggest using a slide slicker where the roller comes accross the tile.

Have you been able to use these directly underneath the roller?

The reason I as is because after the failure, I cut a piece of tile off the failed section and from the outside I installed it directly behind the roller. When the slide was extended, it pushed the piece out.

I'm thinking that the slide slickers would just be pushed in by the roller when retracting the slide.

We have an issue somewhat similar in our 2016 Atlanta. The roller underneath the refrigerator causes the tile to bow up. This is under the left side of the fridge. This tile was replaced during our April visit to the dealer, but when putting the slide out afterwards, it bows up again. I will have the dealer look at it again in October to see what needs to be done.

Not encouraging news Joe Spent 43 years in AZ before full-timing this last May. Interested in what dealer you're working with?

Re: Slide Slickers. Try to stand on the slide slicker when the slide is coming in. I have used them for years on another rig. Do not seem to need them in my MS41RSSB4

We are in Iowa for the summer and have an appointment with our wonderful dealer, Rolling Retreats in Elk City, OK on October 6th. This will be our final visit with them for warranty work as we will have had the Atlanta for a full year around that time. They are a smaller dealer that only deals with DRV's and as such, have become quite good with their knowledge and service work.

Thanks, but there's no way my legs would be able to reach both of them being >6' apart

Since you are still under warranty, you may want to consider an extended warranty. As long as you are still under warranty you can still buy the extended warranty as a new unit. Coach Net is OK

Hmm, another issue....

Bedroom closet veneer has dropped from the ceiling as the cheap a$$ staples they used to install it did not hold.

Anyone else have this problem and able to resolve it? Thinking screws would be the answer but don't want to puncture the roof. Not sure I want the dealer to fix this under warranty as well.

We had the same issue six months after our purchase. The staples they used were worthless. We peeked above the separated closet panel and saw that there was 2-3 inches of space up to the inner roof panel and so we used 3/4" wood screws about 10" apart with 3/8" collars to fasten the panel back up. We have put 10000 miles on our coach since then and it's still fastened and secure.

Thanks for the info. Was concerned that if I used screws too long it would damage the roof. However after looking again, since there are led fixtures in the ceiling, I now see that we would have a sub-roof as well.

We have resolution to the tile that was bowing up underneath the refrigerator. Slade and Travis replaced the tile and in the process, epoxied it in place. We've moved a couple of times since then and that tile no longer bows up. Good job Slade and Travis at Rolling Retreats RV.

Slade said the tile would not be moving anymore and he also said that we would come to hate him if we ever decided to change our tile for something different. With that tile now epoxied in place and underneath the slide, it will be near impossible to get it up and out.

Oh well, we love our tile and do not ever foresee any change in the future.

Yep, if you ever want to get that tile up, you'd better have a belt sander or body grinder.
