40 KSSB4 Pin Weight?

Does anyone on here know the pin weight of the 40 KSSB4? I have also emailed the factory but if anyone for here knows for sure I would appreciate it.

The rule is 20% will be pin weight. So a 20k rig is 4k. But how you load it and options can make a difference.

I have heard that also but looking at sites of other RV's that advertise pin weights some are more and some are less that 20%. Thats why I am looking for an actual number. I do know options and loading will vary the pin weight some but an accurate starting point would help me. I would imagine proper setup leveling the trailer could vary it quite a bit also.

Yes towing level will also make a difference.

you are looking for a number that is very different on all DRVs as each one is a little different and there for their weight is different. Ryno is right @ 20% of total weight -- 40 rksb run @ 19 k from factory and than you load it !!!!!!!

The 20% rule is VERY much Fantasy Island if you full-time. Both of my DRV's had 25% pin weight. My current 39TKSB3 is 24k with 6k pin. I assume your DRV mentioned is tandem axle??? If triple axle the pin weights are 15-20%.

Bottom line you need a modern 3500 DRW minimum to handle any larger DRV's. My DRV weighed 18,075 at the factory without Gen.

But you have a commercial gen upfront and LOADED UP.

When the Suites forum had someone doing weights at rallies most people were 25%pin and were MUCH heavier than they imagined.

Commercial gen weighs no more than the non commercial 6500 gen. Mine is wired to provide 220V power, it's only 300#.

I have a 2018 DRV elite suite 40KKSB4 with 6K generator washer dryer full load and I am pushing almost 6K pin weight

Drv Will not likely respond to your request based on what I’ve noted above is they don’t know what your options and true capacity of your mobile suite.

I am assuming your RV weighs 24k or very close to it.

Dude you should see my wife’s shoes and purses. Yes I’m at a total 24k. F-450 pulls it nicely. Would like a sportchassis

YEP my wife has the front closet PACKED and under the bed. Had to reinforce the bed frame to the slide as it was separating. Even after adding #14 screws to hold the closet rod to the ceiling I had to use a 2x2 to support as her clothes caused the rod to pull the ceiling down.

I will admit I have enough Mechanics and Carpenters tools to build a house and rebuild a truck along with some stuff that goes BANG in the basement.

I am very happy also with my 3500 DRW RAM LongHorn, handles the load in any condition VERY well.
