Kantleak

Ours had a leak after 6 months. Kinda like calling something "foolproof".

Ryan we were at DRV with the rest of the SOITC group this morning, Mike our guide for the tour told us that DRV has started using the "new" brass Kant Leak valve body. Mike claims it's been changed so there are no longer "O" rings inside the valve body.

On another note, we haven't had a problem with ours (yet). I hope I didn't just jinx myself!!

It was an easy job to install the valve.

Part # 670750698415 at Home Depot plus two clamps.

Ryan is that a "BAND" clamp like used on radiator hoses on that ball valve pictured above?

After watching the above video I assume the valve is cut into the rubber hose.

Yes, two band clamps were used to secure the ball valve. I cut the rubber line, trimmed it a little and installed the valve. Every line going to the back of the Kantleak is Pex except this one line.

Apollo PEX makes a screw on, 1/2” valve that is easily added.

I can’t find the link on my phone but I’ll see if I can add a picture.

The valve is marked with the lead free cert.

BTW, the PEX clamps will work with the soft hose if you have them available.

Duane,
That is a great fitting. But if you screwed that on to the back of the Kantleak, I do not think that you could reach the valve, or reach it easily.

I puke a little in my mouth when I read about Anderson Kantleak. I just ordered my fourth valve. I should get the all brass fitting. I DM’d Anderson and got some salesman telling me they have a great product and the problem is the dealers are installing the valve incorrectly. My feeling is if the manufacturer and the dealers can’t install your product correctly, you have a crappy product. I’ve never seen a manufacturer shift the blame like these guys. If my fourth valve goes out on a 2016 elite suites, I’m starting a class action. I believe in treating folks fairly but these guys are shameless. You cannot embarrass them.

I had the exact same issue. I replaced the cartridge, thanks to the great info on this site, and all is good. My symptoms were the same - holding tank filling while on city water and pump not shutting off when on tank. Thanks again!

""I’m starting a class action.""

Let us know how that works out. And how much up front money the lawyer wants.

Darn, Bill, do you have no optimism about our legal system?

I just installed the brass version--has lasted at least 3 months, no leaks, no fill to water tank. Not a simple replacement, at least for me. Hope it lasts for another 3 months....

I am absolutely certain the only ones that win are the lawyers.
Most people who shout "class action" have no idea what it entails. Very unlikely you could ever get a lawyer to waste their time with this small of a "class" and this little amount of money. Not to mention there really no grounds for a suit of any kind

Jeesh, Porkchop. Guess I should have inserted a “tongue in cheek” symbol concerning the class action comment. Relax a little.

There was no "tongue in cheek" about it. You said what you said. I've been married for 52 years now. I gave up trying to read minds 51 years and 11 3/4 months ago
