Another Mod!

Ever wish you could turn off the water supply at the toilet? I did and finally cured MY problem. I added a 1/4 turn ball valve at the back of the toilet.

Reason for the mod is you can dump the water from the toilet and not have it try t fill it back up. By not having water in the toilet you can get a good scrubbing of the ball and seal.

Be sure to use automotive gasket maker on the threads and let it set for several hours before turning water back on. Don't over tighten as they are plastic threads.

I was thinking about this last month. Your connections even look straighter with the ball valve. Good tip.

Looking at you pictures I have to ask does your hand sprayer work without the foot operated valve being push down or does the hand sprayer work with no other action? Mine is the first type

You have to push the foot valve to get water at the sprayer.

Our RV did not come with sprayers.

I just added them to both toilets.
Not real pleased with the way the macerator toilets leave the bowl after certain evolutions

I tapped off the hot water lines. PEX 1/2 x 1/2 x 3/8 tees using sink sprayers.

And I found out after the fact, some sprayers allow the the spray head to rotate on the hose, and others you have to orientate the head in the direction you want when making the connector tight (o-ring versus gasket seal).

While I was at it - our water heater is under the 1/2 bath sink. Took too long to get hot water from such a close location. So when I teed the sprayer in, I teed the sink right off the water heater. Almost instant hot water now.

And since it is kind of related and has come up before. The tank washout lines. Since we have the forward bath my lines must be 30' long between the docking station and tank ports, because of the vacuum breakers.

We replaced our toilet & the new one didn’t have a sprayer. Good thing my wife pointed out that the shower hose works just fine to spray out the toilet n
