Channel locks for the most part
Tighten up while spinning the rotor or drum to seat bearings
Loosen until wheel wobbles a bit
Snug until removing all endplay - wobble.
Then back off a bit.
When installing the cotter pin or spring clip never tighten the nut more to make the alignment, back off the nut until it is aligned properly.

If replacing the bearing cups and races, during the initial ‘tightning’ crank down a bit more while spinning, loosen, repeat. This will seat the races properly.

While we’re kinda on this topic, I have 2 of the screw on plastic caps that are too big for my 8K. MorRyde/DRV sent them to me as replacements for a cracked one. If interested, PM me.
