Arrow Bed platform support

👀You may want to check the support board under the hinge of your bed 👀

The wood support under the hinge of our bed was cracked and pulled away, causing the plywood platform to bow. I removed the factory support and installed a 2x4 header with support studs. I used the scissor jack from my car to hold up the new header, centering it under the hinge. I screwed the 2x4 header in from the top in three places. I then measured the distance from the raised platform to the bottom of the new header on the side of the bed. I used this measurement for all four support studs and wedged them into place. It was probably overkill, but I also nailed in the support studs. I unclipped the support shocks, raised the platform to a 90° angle and drilled a pilot hole through the header into each support stud. I then drove a 2 1/2” finishing nail into each stud.

***Check the screws on your hinge to make sure they’re snug and not stripped. I had to replace a few stripped ones with longer screws.

***I also stapled felt to the top of the platform to keep splinters out of our mattress.

I have a queen bed. Great question as a king is wider.

I have a KING and added ONE center support after delivery and all is still straight after nearly 6 years of full time "USE".
