Exclamation Cracked frame tracking data

If you have a cracked frame (confirmed) please post up these details.
1. Production date, it is on the sticker on your pin box
2. Model
3. What pin box and hitch your running
4. Pictures showing where it is cracked
I’m trying to gather data to see if we can find a production range that has problems and if there are certain models that are more prone.

Thanks for participating.

How about what type of pin box and hitch. All that I know of had a solid pinbox and hitch.

Mine should be cracked being 24k but I have an air bag pinbox.

Yeah but you don’t have many miles on your rig.
Good idea. Someone posted on FB a HUGE crack on the outside and the slide frame shifted. Someone with the same model says he has the same problem.

The one I was referring to is a 19. The first 19 known to my knowledge. They seemed to be earlier years.

I came up with well over 30k and on some of the most jarring roads. I still think if I had a solid pin box I would have cracks weighing 24k.

Are the cracks where they can be seen or are they hidden. I will keep an eye on mine and it would be helpful to know where to look. Mine weighs in around #23,000 but I do have air ride on the truck which helps tremendously on the ride.

Open compartment on DS where you look at hydraulics. Look to your right. 45 angle meets vertical is where the cracks appear.

Thanks Tony. I could not remember the production date and your model. Started a list above to see if a pattern comes up. Is yours a 15 or 16 model?

Wow, I know there were at least 20 of them if not more. Guess it’s being kept quiet for some reason.

Probably and unfortunately because many people no longer use forums such as this.

There is light traffic on this forum and there is almost no traffic on the DRV exclusive forum.

True story!

Several mentioned a while back on FB. All that I know of have had solid hitches and pin poxes. One guy stated he had an air hitch then later admitted his hitch and pin box were both solid when the frame cracked.

As i have mentioned I have an air bag pin box and with my 6k pin I guarantee if I had the MORryde solid pin box I would have cracks.

Mine has the rubber mounted Morryde pin box do you consider this one as solid? I have the Kelderman air ride on the truck which helps tremendously in the ride department especially when loaded. I’m ok with putting an air ride pin box on if needed but I’m not sure I need one

MORryde pin box is solid because it does not have up and down absorption.

What is your pin weight? Your rig is new enough I don't think they have any that have failed.
