External antenna
I’m visiting family in a rural area and TV reception is poor. I’ve attempted to patch in to a home type roof top antenna that gets excellent reception, with no success. The only place that I know to hook up the cable is in the Level up panel for cable. But then I get a message for an M-Card. I switched the cables at the antenna control but it will not work because it’s married to the razr. How can I use an attached cable for tv?

Just run the cable from the antenna through the slide opening.

Attach it to where your normal antenna cable is attached. You may have a selector box - it has an antenna connection on the back. If not you will need to find the normal roof antenna connection and use that. DRV usually label all of the co-ax cables in the entertainment cabinet.
Or you could attach it directly to the back of the TV if it has a co-ax connector - most do.

You should be able to attach it to the cable connection in the Levelup compartment, but your Rayzar will have to be turned off in order for the signal to pass through.

I'd connect to the "cable" connection outside, turn off the rv antenna booster, on tv menu set to "cable" & scan the channels. If that didn't work connect directly to the tv, set menu to "antenna" & scan the channels.

I'm not sure how you are patched in to this rooftop antenna but in this digital age even those need at least a pre-amp to get a good usable signal. So if there is no pre-amp between your end of the cable and the antenna itself it probably won't work as well as your RV antenna.

The newer DRVs have pre amps in them. O when you hook up to cable at a park, you MUST turn off the antenna.

The "built-in" amplifier in the RV is in the antenna head itself. When you push the button to turn it off you are disabling the 12 VDC feed to the amplifier. This amplifier has nothing to do with amplifying a signal from an external antenna.

I think there is a real good probability that a Thor Ace and a DRV are constructed and wired differently with different products.

Probably different tv's & different models of antennas, but the same antenna booster & same birds nest of cables running who knows where that connect to a tv somewhere.

Can't wait for the day when you arrive at an RV park and your TVs will automatically be sent a signal to work and voila! Oh, what a day that would be!
