First DRV & Retirement...Happy Campers!

Today we picked up our First DRV 2017 Elite Suite and could not be more happy. We have been containing our excitement since late November after finalizing our order with RV'S for Less. My husband hangs up his Fire Chiefs helmet on Monday, retiring after a rewarding and wonderful career! We hope to meet some of you as we start the next wonderful chapter...retirement [emoji4]

Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement and a beautiful DRV. I hope our paths cross in a campground one of these days.

Beautiful rig! I hope you enjoy it - and retirement for many, many years. I retired a year ago rather ahead of schedule in a "downsize". Decided to make the best of it and lost 40 pounds (it's hard!) and bought a middle size class C. Love everything about being retired. It's like being back in college only with a beautiful wife, money, vehicles and no exams. What's not to like?!

Congratulations. We just picked up our new DRV recently as well, but we're still a few years out from retirement. I'm jealous.

Welcome to the family and Congrats! My 2 cents, don't try to see everything the first year. The 2-2-2 method works great, travel 200 miles, stop by 2 pm and stay 2 days or weeks. Better yet, pick a region or a state and spend a few months on the back roads seeing the area. We have been fulltime for 11 years. We've volunteered at state parks for a winter or summer season every year so there is so much we haven't seen. Enjoy! Come to some regional or the national rally, nice people, lots of Drv's.

We ended up going with a F350. My desire to get away from the 19.5 inch commercial tires was greater than my desire for the better turning radius of the F450. So far, so good. Rides better than our 2009 F450. 2017 F450 probably rides better than our 2009 F450, too! We've got about 3,400 miles on the truck. 1,195 of that is pulling the MS. (If you can remember and click all the right things in the dash screens, the truck will keep track of the trailer's mileage.) Donna likes it. She's claimed it as hers and named it. (She did that with "my" corvette, so that's a good sign.) I wasn't aware that a new truck meant learning how to back up, again! Hope the OP likes his truck as much as we're liking ours. David
