Something to think about when unhitching the B&W. Sometimes there may be pressure against the hitch when opening the handle to separate and the hitch won't let go. If this happens open the handle and place the pin or lock into the hole that keeps handle open, this will allow you to pull away.
THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART!!!!!!! Immediately remove that pin!!!!!!!! On the rare instances of a B&W hitch being involved in a RV dropping on the truck the handle was pinned OPEN.
Be sure to grease the ZERK on the underside of the head that many don't know exists.
Hey OP how bout letting us know what your plans are for getting your frame repaired.
I do a pull test with legs off ground a couple of inches , trailer brakes applied !
Coach is at Cooper Fab in Post Falls , ID . Front end is disassembled and waiting for plating and welding . Will try to post pics as progress happens
Have reloaded and back on the road !!! Ride feels better and now the front under cap and mouldings are stable ( not moving ) It took a couple of years and some luck to find the problem but what a difference !! Back to original , BUT BETTER !!!
