Fridge temp. too low?

I have a 17 MS with the residential fridge. Freezer temp set at 0, fridge set at 38. Freezer is good, but fridge goes colder than set temp. Any ideas what to check or repair? Thanks for any help.

Dave

Maybe raise the temp until you see it is really 38? Our house thermostate has always been off. We just make set it to 70 when we want it to get to 72.
Have you called the manufacture? Not sure what there warranty is.

Get one of those little thermometers you can place in the fridge and adjust the settings over a few days. I found the perfect setting where freezer is 0 and fridge is 34, regardless of what the dials indicate.

Since nobody asked: how much colder than 38; does it get?

Yes, good question--is the fridge section freezing stuff near the freezer? Near the icemaker? How do you know it is colder than setting? And, yes, the numbers on the door aren't going to be exact--using a thermometer inside to make sure what the temp is/where is the first step, then just adjust the door setting to suit you.
I run ours at -2/35 and the wife is happy...

Things up high and towards the back will come close to freezing with ours set at 38. Adjust produce accordingly.

Thanks for the reply's. We set it at 38 and a lot of things freeze. I raised the temp, but the fridge reading doesn't raise. Right now the temp is set at 38 and it shows 29. I will put a thermometer in the fridge and see what the actual temp is. Thanks for the help.

Whirlpool or Samsung? Don't understand your statement 'set at 38 and it shows 29'? Is this the readout on the door, if you haven't used an inside thermometer?

I had the same problem. One night I realized the fridge never cycled off. I ordered and replaced the thermister and now it runs and cycles as designed.

OP has a residential fridge, not an RV/gas-electric. No thermister to move/replace. Good idea for those with an RV fridge.

There is a third option, KitchenAid. They were out of Whirlpool's so they dropped in a KitchenAid, me likes the looks better.

wingnut, I have a Frigedaire. Temp set at 38, shows 29 on door, inside temp 28. I do not have heat on in the coach at this time, if that makes a difference and the outside temps are in the 30's. Thanks.

Ultratraveler,
Dont have a Frigidaire so don't know what the readouts/settings look like. On our Whirlpool you set the freezer and fridge sections separately and the reading is close in the fridge section. Don't know about freezer, but ice cream is hard.
Hope you can get it fixed easily.

Well I see another way DRV is cheapening with a Frigidaire instead of the Whirlpool/KitchenAid.

Here is what mine looks like.

So far in our DRV we haven't seen this to be an issue.
But in our current and last house fridge, Maytag and LG, we had exactly the same thing happening.

Mostly when the frig is packed for us, I suppose most would do this.
