Frig issue

Full disclosure, this is not a dig to DRV or to Whirlpool.


Have any of you had a glass shelf in your refrigerator shatter? My wife put a bottle of wine on the shelf to chill and the shelf shattered into a bazilliion pieces. Much of the glass ended up in the veggie crispers, but almost as much ended up on the floor and several days later we are still picking up pieces of glass. Fortunately the glass panel is used on at least 50 different models of refrigerator and is readily available at a reasonable price.

Nope, over two> yrs. over 15,000 miles. No issues with the Whirlpool (yet), except DW often overloads it, near Costco's.

Been full timing for over 3 years now. No issues with my shelving in my fridge. I can relate about finding glass days later. As I dropped a wine glass in the rig.

I did not take it as a dig on either. Just sounds like sh@# happens.

I can only imagine the mess that made! I keep a piece of rubber shelf liner on one of my glass shelves and all glass bottles and jars go on that shelf. Paranoid, maybe a little!

Sorry to hear! We have not had that problem, but wife dropped a glass the other day and like others, still finding little pieces!

If the chance of it happening again concerns you: just get someone to cut you a shelf out of some plexiglass...

The glass is tempered and under stress, they can shatter at anytime. Usually a touch to the edge will send it into pcs.
