Not really... They all use the same parts and vendors. Just pay less for the actual quality of the rig.

I was told by one the Thor Peeps...it's all relative to the Plant they are built in. Huge variations of quality issues from plant to plant. Boils down to production management.

"Accidents of Geography?": That's not particularly comforting...

I don’t agree! I’ve had far less problems with this Rv than with my previous 5. All my problems have been with the equipment not made by DRV, as in fridge, sat dish, air conditioner.

Buying sourced components from the place that you can get them the cheapest...
A Top-Shelf rig deserves Top-Shelf components...

After over a year with my DRV , still nothing but smiles. By far the best rv I’ve ever owned. I’ve owned a Cedar creek, cardinal, and jayco pinnacle.

That is part of be Thor'ed PROCUREMENT

My Fire Place failure was a potential RV Fire.
My Stove/oven burnt food and later continuing propane leak.
Continued failure of Disco lights.
Caulking (Material could been used before Thor/Hearthland entered).
Kitchen sink faucet.
Using collapse-able furnace duct causing overheated furnace.

Engineering and Production quality are DRV problems unless Thor has their thumb on the Production Management

My opinion. Clay 2016 MS

When I bought our Cyclone in 2009 I had toured 5 toy hauler plants. No doubt the Cyclone was the best then.

After buying it and being extensively involved with the owners group and multiple tours after that I found the the Cyclone plant definitely had a different work ethic and mentality then the Big Horn and Landmark plant.

It was plain to see especially when looking under the covers.

Sounds like you have a RV that will stand out on the 'not quite' DRV Owners Group on facebunk.

Over the years, I have have had more problems with dealers not knowing how to work on the products they sell than with the manufacturers.

That's a smart way to handle things!
But not everybody is fortunate enough to have the time for this kind of thorough investigation...

But Still:

OH MY!!! You may actually have more than we did. Ed Fry AKA "Mr NO" did not care for me as I had Construction experience of 35 years and he could not pull the wool over MY eyes. When showing him how our pantry was 5/8" out of square in it's depth of about 15" he said "I see worse than that on million dollar homes". So it is still out of square along with another area.

I would have never gave them the money if that many things were wrong with my unit!

My kitchen 'out of square' should be easy. The big gaps inside the cabinets over the fridge are a dead give away.

Funny thing about builders.

When I built my deck I had it within 1/16" across any and all measurements (16x40)

During a general discussion with a contractor doing work at our house the deck came up. He wanted to know why I built it to a close tolerance. I suggested isn't that how all home construction is?

He then proceeded to show me areas all around the house that i just never noticed as not being, plumb, square, level etc.

Items on the PDI were all addressed.
Paint issues were documented, photographed and sent to DRV before I left.

Issues that could be addressed during my 3 days at the dealer - part were ordered.

11 items needed parts ordered. Rather then wait up to a month for the parts they were ordered and shipped to my house over a month period.

Of the 11 ordered parts:
1 was correct but not made correctly (not routed)(door)
1 was correct and not needed (subwoofer, it was un-plugged)
3 were correct and used
The remaining 6 were the wrong parts.

All the other issues I started finding after my 330 mile trip home.

Some problems I didn't find until I installed my SAT antenna. DRV never installed 2 coax cables needed. And they installed the wrong antenna control cable (they installed an extension instead of the main harness)

Some of the trim that was ordered (incorrectly) was damaged because it was not protected from the weather.

By one month I had a substantial list.

We also had plenty of reservations that we were not going to lose out on.

So it is not like I left the dealer with a pocketful of rainbows, a basket of puppies and being towed by Unicorns.

Like I said, with that many things wrong , I wouldn’t have accepted the unit and would not have given them any money.

When I purchased mine, I stayed at the dealer 3 days until every item was repaired. When and after the repairs were made I gave them the check. Then stayed at a campground near the dealer to make sure everything kept working.

If you are asking me I had to have RollingRetreats deliver my rig to NW WA. So at one year we went to DRV Factory to get everything done. Was not the best decision.

To do it again I would have waited to go to RR for PDI and get everything dealt with there as I know for sure they would have fixed EVERYTHING on my list.
