Gas Springs - Replacement Info

If any of your basement doors won't stay up and you need replacement Gas Springs here is the manufacturer site: https://shop.suspa.com/gas-spring-replacements-c17.aspx

The number on the original Gas Spring (at least on mine) is C16-08260
This is a 60 lb Gas Spring.

If you want a little stiffer Gas Spring these are available. Same Gas Spring size just different pressure:
C16-08053 = 80 lb. option
C16-08054 = 100 lb. option

We can never have enough information.

Don

Hey Don, I'm curious which door on your trailer wouldn't stay open. I have had troubles with the door-side compartment door. I "assumed" one of my gas springs was shot or defective and I bought a new set of the SAME springs to replace the "bad" one.

Turns out the original springs were ok, at that point I figured maybe I had water intrusion and the extra weight was the cause of my door issue so I tried to re-caulk the seams on the door. I'm still having an issue with that door, it "barely" stays up when I open it. I'm thinking I might buy another replacement set a little stronger this time.

Install tip 80# gas springs

I put the 80# gas springs on this weekend and they work great. When you put them on make sure to take both of the 60# springs off first that way the door can swing a little higher for you to install the 80# springs.

Enjoy the road. We sure do.
