Wife and I pulled in here this morning for some repair work on our bedroom slide floor. Will have to get a motel room for the service work and we have a factory tour scheduled for tomorrow at 10. Their Friday tour was cancelled, most likely because of the long weekend upcoming.
While here today, Paul and Kay Cross have several DRV for sale. I took a look at one that is on consignment; a 2013 Elite Suite (38TKSB). 2 furnaces, heat pads, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fireplace, queen sleep number bed, auto level and a 5500 generator. Slide covers, custom window screens on the outside and two awnings. Asking $69k, but accepting offers. This could be a deal for someone looking for an Elite! If anyone is interested, I will ask Kay if I can post pictures on the rig.
They also have a 2015 DRV Tradition 38 foot. Nice looking rig with a few extras to boot. Asking $44900.

A few other consignments here are '05 Doubletree, '06 and an '07. These were pre DRV named. These were quality built rigs that held up to the rigors of the road. Like Teton, Excel, NuWa and Travel Supreme, these were well built with real wood and quality workmanship!

Sorry for the long post, but if someone on here is looking, you might just snag a deal!

Send me a PM if you want!

Was just there this morning making sure my appt was set, probably just missed you. Will be in there tomorrow sometime. We are in Shipshewana S CG for tonight.
Going to be interesting for Cross--main AC is not cooling as of this afternoon, another item to put on the list.
Saw the Elite and Tradition, also the others. His business is growing very well, last time we were there was maybe 8 years ago.
Joe

Hi Joe,

We were at the Shipshewana S CG just last week. Stayed for a few days to catch the flee market. We were on our way back to WI from our summer travels to VT & NH.

Kay and Paul are great folks to work with, say hi to them from us.

Maybe we'll catch up with you guys this winter in TX???

Take care.

Juicesqueezer,
How's the floor repair going? I will be up there Oct 8th for floor replacement on both OD slides. Needless to say I'm a bit anxious about the job.

Mike, Paul and Kay did an outstanding job with our rig! I would highly recommend them. They also have 50 amp service to plug into and water, no sewer. We stayed last night after the rig was finished and left this morning We are in Berea, KY now for the night and on to Lebanon, TN to see the kids again before heading back to our home in Florida. Keeping our fingers crossed our home will sell soon. Ready to hit the road again!

Joe, it was great meeting you and your wife Sherri as well. Hopefully, we will meet again soon and get a chance to talk shop! Sorry it was so hectic at the last minute and I know you were heading to an RV park that night as well.
Take care and kindness regards,

Joe & Dottie

Why do you need floor repair on a 4 year old coach? It seems I hear more of this with DRV's than other units. What seems to be the problem? Thanks and good luck.

The Geocell caulk cracks in weeks to months after it is applied. And I am pretty sure that is the ONLY water barrier they use when installing the picture frame moldings on the slide outs. It only seems to happen on the bed and vanity slides.

What did they use to seal the picture frames? Did they install another water barrier under the picture frames? It would suck if it happened again.
How much did the repair cost?

Unfortunately we purchase this unit used. So, in saying that, if you don't go over your unit regularly to check for any separation, etc., leaks can and do show up. This happens on any RV, no matter what brand, style model number, etc. Owners need to check any and all places were water can seep in.

I don't recall the product used, but when we did the factory tour the other day, that question was asked and if DRV had addressed that problem and the answer is yes, they have done some things different now. Paul tried to explain the procedure he uses, but bottom line, lots of sealant was used in the process.
As far as costs go, this can vary depending on what is wrong, size of flooring, etc. Our floor was 12 feet in length and had to be ordered from the factory. The floor was $600 and seems to be a standard price. We have the separate washer/dryer in our bedroom area and it all has to come out. However, they do not have to pull the slide out of the rig! I would call to find out what the cost would be, but most all repair shops are at $110 an hour!
Hope this helps!

After a visit with Cross over the repair on juice's slide, I would feel very confident that the replacement will outlast the rest of the trailer.

Had 3 items addressed on our '15--done in less than 4 hours and a very reasonable charge.

This is our 3rd visit to the Elkhart area and also to Cross RV--they have always been very courteous in explaining how they fix what the factory did not do correctly, and also just the average repairs needed on any fiver. I would recommend their shop to any towable owner for repairs.

The floors for the slides are about $600 each as Juicesqueezer said. Paul and Kay told me that they could replace both floors in 40 hours total when we were in there in May for other work. Most repair shops quote 40 hour per slide. When Kay sent me an estimate in writing, The cost had gone up to 60 hours for a total cost of about $6600 for labor. I called and squawked a bit without getting a satisfactory answer about the 50% increase in labor quote. I'll still go with them as past experience with them has been good but I'm not very happy about the "miscommunication".

Well, I understand the DRV factory is no longer working on any rigs that are out of warranty, so having a reputable shop that knows DRVs is a nice option.

Other options in the area are Twin Lakes RV Repair and Tiara RV Sales--have no personal experience with either of these shops.

Ryan,
Have only heard about DRV and warranty-only work--no actual word from them.
