One problem I see is the grease hubs dont have a fill hole. The center plug is for access to the grease jerk. And the hub should a lot fuller than that height.

The center plug is the fill hole and the level is at the bottom of the hole.

I found out that the inner part of the grease/oil seal attaches to the spindle and the outer part rotates with the hub.

May come apart that way but does not install like that.

Has anyone considered or done a brake up grade using something like Brembo or Wilwood with a slotted rotor?

When the National seal for oil bath hubs is pushed onto the spindle, the part of the seal that contacts the spindle does not rotate on the spindle. If you grab the part of the seal that would be installed in the hub, the hub part of the seal rotates. Looks like a two piece seal. The seal is made for oil bath hubs but can be used for grease.
The Dexter seal that I am replacing, works like I am used to. It rotates on the spindle.

I hand fit a seal onto the spindle and it seems to fit very tight as in will not turn freely. I admit at this point I did not put oil on them yet, just the lube they came with which is a bit tacky. What oil is suggested for the hubs? Thanks.
The seals will be a snug fit on spindles. Use lube to install.

I prefer AMZ/OIL 75-90 Severe Gear. It comes in a nice squeeze bottle.

On level ground fill to bottom of fill hole.

The outer part is tight to the hub. The inner and outer parts rotate within them selves.

Mis read, you basically said the same.

Resurrecting this thread - this seal and bearings were used to convert an 8k Morryde IS to a oil bath, correct? As well as the replacement O ring on the outer cap? Looking to do this myself. Any issues since converting?

YES 8k IS.

Worth every hard earned cent!!! Oil bath seals are dry along with the nice cap "O" rings. Pads are wearing well also.

Thank you again Ryan for finding these quality "O" rings!!!

Thank you for the update and information. My last trailer had been converted to oil bath, and I liked not having to pack bearings and waiting for a failure. I also like being able to look at the cap and see my oil level, and they always ran cool. I'm doing all the maint on the drive train prepping for leaving our winter spot for summer travels.
