LED help

I have 5 incandescent lights in my living/dining area and replaced them with LED’s shortly after purchase. Either I made a mistake on lumins, or temperature because they’re basically useless. I ordered replacements from Amazon, but they were DOA. I returned them, ordered 4 more, and they were DOA. No, it’s not my lights. I checked these hot wired, and nothing, not even a flicker, but my old LED’s worked fine. Which LED’s have any of you used for a good bright LED to replace the incandescent’s?

clev,
I replaced every reg light in my '05 with an LED and all worked. Are you looking for warm light or bright light? 3000k is the warm color, 5-6000k is the bright color. I feel when the bulbs are behind the covers, the brights work best. If you put a warm color behind a cover, it basically doesn't give any coverage light.
I got most of mine from SuperbrightLEDs.com and some from M4.

I replaced the 2 at each end of the couch, the one behind theater seat, in and out door lights. The 2 sets of 4 ordered from Amazon were Chinese made. Tried all 8 and not even a flicker, even with a hot and ground directly to 12 volts. I’ll check Superbright.

I had issues with the wall lights behind the couch and recliners. The contact on the LED bulbs weren't large enough to touch the contacts inside the fixture. I ended up "building-up" the contacts on the bulb with solder and they work great.

If you “hotwired” them and no light......providing the unlikeliness of every bulb being bad.....wrong voltage led’s? As far as them being produced in China.....I’d bet 95% are....

If you want a good LED--try these. Thye will cost your more $ but in my opinion, well worth it.

Is it possible that you have bought lamps with double contacts, i.e. the lamp base has two contacts - like a stop/tail lamp. I made this mistake, and only got the lamp to work by putting 12 volts across one of the base contacts and the body of the lamp. This type of lamp has two circuits, and will not work in a trailer fixture.

I had a couple bayonet LED lamps I had to reverse polarity to get light. I don't remember the brand or MFG but the conversion took place about 6 years ago.
Just my experience, some of the stuff you buy on Amazon especially when there are multi sellers is second hand junk. Toilet valves leaked, water pressure regulator only regulated rated of flow not pressure over night, rope has splices in center.

if all bulbs are inoperative right out of the box I'd suspect reverse polarity. try flipping the bulb around in the socket...or you may need to re-wire the sockets.

I recently bought these to replace some of mine in key areas where I wanted more light
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
so far I've been happy enough.

I've tried and have been disappointed with several others over the years
About three years ago I replaced all the incandescent bulbs with some from amazon...the page there is no longer available, but the description was
"YITAMOTOR 10 X T10 42-SMD RV Car Backup Reverse Warm LED Light Bulb W5W 2825 168 194 175 921 912"

A few failed here and there but mostly they have been good. DW likes a relatively dim light generally, and a warm color..about 3,000K or less..and these work well.
I just wanted more light over the kitchen sink and a couple other places

I appreciate all the advice/comments. The wall lamps require the bayonet with double contacts: BA15D. Honestly, I wired them directly to 12 volts, then reversed the polarity; not even a flicker. Two different sets, completely DOA.

Clev,
Wall lamps with double contacts? The wall lamps in my '15 have the 2 contacts on bottom and they twist in to work? They are labeled as GU24, look almost like a regular frosted lightbulb. 800 lumens/3000k. Found them at an Ace Hardware....

Not doubting what you have, but if 2 contacts--why? Most of the 2 contact bayonet bulbs I have seen are brake light types with 2 filaments for low/high. Guess I have never seen one of yours. Hope you get some good ones.

The bayonet lamps in our pendant lamps (2015 Tradition) are double contact automotive #1076. They are single element lamps. There are more than one bayonet double contact automotive lamps some with single (1076) done with double (1176)....and other part numbers as well. I purchased these replacements because we wanted a cooler white lamp..... Makergroup 1076 1004 1142 BA15D S8 DC Bayonet Double Contact Base LED Light Bulbs for Boat Marine Lights, RV Camper Trailer Automotive Light Bulbs, Works on 12V&24V, Cool White 6-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074RXT5KH..._ISL9Cb6JKAPW7

Only put one in so far.....the others are welded in pretty good...need gloves in case they break in my hands....but it works....brighter...cooler white...thumbs up.

We have 100% LED now including cargo bays and scare lights.
https://www.cabinbright.com/1076-ba15d-base-bulbs/

The sconces in our coach required more of a marine type bulb.
The dual contacts on the bottom of this bulb provide the power to the bulb. The sleeve of the bulb with the bayonet pins DOES NOT conduct electricity.

The support at cabinbright is second to none and they have replaced a bulb that went intermittent (portion flickering) after 10+ mo.
They're great at recommending color and lumen output also.

Look at this site: http://www.m4products.com
My A.C.E.’s interior lamps are 921 wedge base lights, 2700k, 900 lumens, I believe. Not cheap but they work well.

My bad! I misstated the LED specs. Here’s the straight scoop: http://www.m4products.com/921-24-505...th-wedge-base/

Little late getting back. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Yes, my 3d order from Amazon was successful. Wing, the 2 sofa wall lamps, theater wall lamp, and over door wall lamp are all double contacts, drop in and twist. Honestly, the first 2 orders were DOA. Wired directly to 12 volts, they wouldn’t even flicker.
