I find this a rather strange statement. Just to check and make sure, I went out and lowered mine down as low as it will go. Still a long way to the ground!

The LevelUp goes down far as possible when first leveling--does not hit ground or damage anything. Could be a problem if something was stored underneath? Then it would either crush the item or break into the underbelly.
