Bedroom slide cable

Just noticed on my 2015 41RSSB4 that the top front cable on the bedroom slide is fraying. Anyone had the problem. Slide is currently out but getting ready to hook up and head to the Rally in Crossville TN. What happens if it brakes?

I would get it fixed ASAP. We had an upper rear that was frayed. I did not notice it until it came loose while DW was bringing the slide out. We were lucky because we had an appointment at Rolling Retreats the next day for something else. We were able to bring the slide in with only 3 cables but don't know how many times you can do that. We have a washer and dryer in the bedroom slide (38RSB3-2015) and wonder if the extra weight could be a contributing factor...?

We also have a washer and dryer in the slide. Weight is not the problem. If you go to Welcome to Norco Industries, Inc. and click in the product drop down window and select Acuslide you can then scrolldown the page and see a parts list, tools needed, and installation videos. In the video they will show what causes the problem.

I think you guys sent me some bad juju.
My cable is not fraying, but the grommet that keeps it in and the cable was all the way in to the rubber seal. I was able to get it back out and hooked back up. So now I just keep an eye open on all of them each time the slides come in and out. I think I will be looking for something to replace all of those grommets as several of them are breaking down on my 2016 DRV. When I find something, I will start a new thread with the fix.

Might not be a bad idea to call Norco and describe what you mentioned and see if they have a fix.

Can you post a pic of what you speak?

I mentioned adjusting mine at the factory as the big bedroom slide sticks out at the bottom about 5/8" from the main body when retracted but after traveling it comes in to be flush. They said it was fine.
