Mor Ryde Step Above Steps

Has anyone had these installed? Just like to hear the pro and cons. Thinking about getting them installed.

Appreciate any input.

Don

I just recently installed Torklift folding steps on my 2015 38 RSSA and am very impressed with them. Very well built. Life time warranty. Very expensive as a consequence. They have the advantage of being height adjustable both at the bottom and top. Did the install myself. It can be done with one person but it's a lot easier with a helper.

You will need four steps and two spacer kits.

They may be another option for you.

Ditto on the trailer and ditto on the steps. Have seen a lot of the Step Above stairs around. There is a 36TK3 in the Northshore RV park in Onalaska with them from the factory and no cutout for regular steps.

We have a couple of friends that just purchased new fifth wheels this spring, both units came with the MORryde Step Above steps. VERY nice and stable too, we have the Step Up (MORryde electric) steps on our '15 38RSSA. If or when our steps give us grief I'll be purchasing and installing the Step Above version.

Looking at our friend's trailer it doesn't appear to be too difficult to install on my own, I agree a second set of hands probably would make things go easier and smoother.

I assume you mean these steps.

I personally think they are the sturdiest steps out there. But my concern with them is that if they are wet and dirty and that you have to fold them inside of your rig. Plus I think if you have a pull bar on your screen door it will not work with them.

Ryan, you bring up a couple of good points. My buddy Russ cut himself a couple of small pieces of 1/2" plywood about 4" X 8" "pads" and sets those under the legs of his steps, the pads go in the basement if it's messy out..... Crisis averted As for interior clearance that becomes more of an individual consideration depending on one's particular layout. For us with a 38RSSA it wouldn't be a problem.

The only down side to the Step Above set up would be the added room they would require for deployment say at a rest area or something of that nature.

Look how the side stringers extend beyond the last tread nose. NOT a good design and very easy to trip over exiting and turning the last step.

Just replaced our Elkhart Industries manual steps that I crunched with same only with aluminum treads. Rock solid like the OE set. Use the small step when needed.

WOW! That damage was from using the steps and not being hit by something?

YEA in a parking lot swinging wide a car came around a blind corner coming right at me fAST, I turned hard right and hit the brakes. I was right against a light concrete pole.

Insurance treated it as Comprehensive since I was avoiding an accident.

Well over 4k in damages. I did the RnR of the steps and did a bit or metal straightening!

They paid me for my time @ $50 an hour to do the steps and travel to get supplies. So it covered my $500 deductible.

When I get to my Northern Summer location I will complete the repairs.

As they say it could have been worse!!!
