Don you have a serious issue if those numbers are correct. I don’t buy it! You have 3” risers so there is no way one tire right next to the other can weigh that much different.
Without my 3” risers my rear axle weighed a lot more but not any longer since getting the 3” risers installed.

Don I would go to a CAT scale and weigh all 4 tires to confirm or deny those weights. If they come back the same I would contact Rob at MORryde. I am willing to bet you have a bad sheer spring.

I doubt this is the problem but maybe worth a check. The springs have two sets of mounting holes (to adjust the trailer up/down about an inch) for height adjustment. I would make sure all springs are using the same sets of holes. Other than that, I'm with Ron, maybe a soft/torn spring or an incorrect higher load rating spring installed in one position.

Never have had the individual wheels weighed, but that discrepancy sure seems extreme.
Will be sure that I get mine weighed when I get to Livingston at the Escapees.

Wing, are you going to Indiana specifically for trailer repairs? Can you not get that accomplished here in Tejas.

I agree completely that something is not right. And it is not the tires.

clev,
On extended trip to west coast, central US, and finally Maine. Was going thru the Indiana RV center of the universe and am making use of the experience around here. Morryde work mostly not done anywhere else; fridge reset not something to trust to CW??; and the jack replacement at LCI. The fridge I could have done before we went FT, just didn't get around to it--now, not enough tools/space/time for me to mess it up...
I am wondering if DRV ever uses a level on the fridges, but gee whiz, even a one-eyed sailor could spot the leanout--their QC 'missed' a bunch of these.

Thanks, wing, and good morning. I've seen other posts from members that are doing the same as you by having repairs done at MorRyde, DRV. Are their rates comparable to other RV repair centers, higher, cheaper??

Good morning, cummins. With 3" risers, how tall is your coach at it's highest point? I have 2" risers and mine is ~13' 4"-5" and I would be overly concerned if it were any taller.

It's 13'-5" measured at MORryde with the 3" risers.

My axle weights when RV had little "STUFF" in it. F 6,360# R 8.020# 14,380#
After full timing and adding much more "STUFF". F 8.720# R 8,820# 17,540#
This is with the 3" risers added.

We bought a trucker’s atlas and every time we leave the interstate, we check overpass clearances.

Checked with Rob @ Mor Ryde
I did check with Rob at Mor Ryde and he concurs that they have seen some "drastic" changes -- as he put it -- on tire weights especially on the side with the appliances.
However, when I get the opportunity I will get it re-weighed.

We laid a long 2x4 across our highest point and dropped a tape line beside of it at its bottom. 13’ 4-5”; it was a little difficult to narrow it down any closer. Yes, my wife did it, but I helped.

clev,
Not sure that the rates are any better/worse in the Elkhart area than anywhere else--no way to compare--except, I believe CW in Fort Worth is $140/hr, Cross RV is $110/hr.
Morryde--they don't have many service centers, just authorized centers that MIGHT can do work needed. For my money, the IS is hard to beat and wanted the plant to do any work needed.
LCI/Lippert--they have said they will replace the front jacks on my trailer due to dropping legs if I would bring it to the plant--thus my appt there this coming Tuesday. Would not/could not trust this to anyone else to replace---rebuilds are different, many hydraulic shops can rebuild but won't remove them for repairs.
This is my third visit up this way--once to Doubletree factory for some adjustments on my '05 and to LCI to replace the hydraulic pump on same trailer. This was before Doubletree became DRV and pre-Thor--different world back then. Once went to Cross on fellow Doubletree owner recommendation--he changed the peninsula to an island on my '05, couldn't tell it was ever the other way. There isn't much he can't get done on a Doubletree/DRV unit, if you have the time to make the trip up to LaGrange, IN.
As an added plus, a lot of the shops have some spaces to stay w/elec the night before the work is scheduled.
As far a local work, I never really had enough work done in the DFW area to find a good shop, unless you were to need fiberglass work--if you ever do, there is a terrific shop in Burleson, TX, that I would recommend for any RV bodywork.
Just one more appt and then on to Niagara....only gone about 10500 miles so far since Apr 1.

Thank you, wing, that was a good report. I absolutely hate taking my RV, or any vehicle, to a dealer. I always do my own repairs; well I and my wife, unless it’s really technical and we can’t. But, I’ll keep the Indiana companies, factory reps, in mind. What’s the name of the Burleson body repair?

Axle weight rating

Dont forget to check your axle rating also, same reason you checked the wheels!
