I reinstalled the strap back to front using a small non-metalic angle ( used some wood molding but have some fiber-glass for next change) across the gap between the batteries. Has worked good for the first 1400 miles.

The two pictures just show part the cable clean switches I installed. I shortened the 4/0 positive battery cable from the ODS battery to the DS positive switch placement and next to the DS Battery. The two batteries are paralleled at the Battery shunt. Not perfect for equal cables to battery to load or Charger to Battery but improve the DRV Design. Safety for Battery Maintenance.

I have installed an addition switch in the ODS battery compartment to kill the remaining battery load. I will a picture when I take pictures of my Furnace Duct Maintence

i hadn't read your post when I did the previous post. The Battery disconnect provided by the DRV located inside ODS little door with the level-up control and connection TV, does not turn off all the power. Only function of that power switch is cut the power to the 12 volt fuse panel. The factory design still powered the level-up control and hydraulic pump. My new switch cuts the power to those device and the Factory installed switch. The switch is mounted above the batteries



While in the area has anyone ever removed the panel mounted inside the little door to tighten any connections?

The ODS battery set had load that will continuously draining the batteries. I installed the switch on the the right of the picture in series with the factory installed kill switch and the Leveling control/Hydraulics.


The duct revision was required to increase air flow to upper level. The factory warranty install was an improvement as two duct crossed and were crushed when the Black Tank filled and sagged in the middle. My modification was to allow more more air flow at bends in the duct run. The first 2 bends are now metal and the final bend is still the factory flexible duct as through an area about 4 inches wide. I did stretch the Flex duct to prevent collapse. The flex duct had been nearly 30 inches longer than needed.
I also moved the Vacuum forward 2 inches to give a full 6 1/2 inch path for the metal duct

I have been working on my batteries-electronics. New batteries, moved up into the closet, inverter (MSH 3012) moved to the battery location under the hydraulic pump. All re-wired so that a battery disconnect does exactly that.
Replaced any pump wires that were not 2 AWG.
Now have a tool box compartment on the door side. Ours was built with two basement doors on the door side due to the generator option - so I'm told.

And I have found when you deal with tech help from either Magnum, Victron and BB you tend to get tech help that can only speak on single subjects and in engineering terms.

Once this is all settles and worked out I am ready to order panels.
Now I have a choice between two controllers and battery monitors to figure out.

I guess my inverter button went off when changing batteries. On a 6 hour trip thru 80-90 weather the freezer was 17 and frig was 53 upon arrival.

So I will try this again tomorrow on then way back and see if the new batteries are functioning to keep it 0 and 38 like it is on shore power.

I have inadvertently turned off my inverter when 'pushing buttons' in the cabinet.

Also makes you wonder about the whole - "your fridge is ok for 24 hours with no power as long as you don't open it" ditty.

If it's winter and you have no heat inside RV I would say it would be OK.

Yeah, long time ago (1989), I was fixing to go oseas for a new job and the compressor in my brand new refer in the house stopped working (this was a Saturday). Called the maker, that's what they said and in that day and age, yeah that was about right. Got oseas a day late, but the refer got fixed on a tuesday.

Well my new battery purchase was warranted. Traveling thru 80+ weather for 6 hours upon arrival the freezer was at 0 and frig at 38 the same as at departure.

It DOES help to have the inverter turned ON!!!

Yeah, get some empty half gallon milk jugs, fill them with water, get a battery powered fan, put them in the freezer when you start out and that helps.

Residential Frig does NOT need anything but good batteries and a Inverter that is turned "ON".

Takes awhile to cool down though. Yeah, you could turn on the Inverter and the propane the night before you are leaving too. And when it comes out of storage, turn the refer switches in the refer back on and if you didn't clean the mold out, you just left the doors open, better close and lock them before you leave.

Topic was needing to replace my batteries since my RESIDENTIAL frig was warmer at my destination than my departure.

New batteries and I am at 0 freezer and 38 frig even after traveling several hours Iin hot weather.

Nice not dealing with a RV frig any longer!!!

Why did batteries matter while traveling? Power to inverter comes from your alternator then.
