Running Wires

Does anyone have experience fishing wires through the walls of the trailer? I was told that our MS would come with awning lights, but that didn't turn out to be the case. So now I'm going to look into doing our own.

Thanks in advance!

First thing I would do is look at your build sheet or see if they are standard equipment. If it's on there make DRV do it.

It was a separate option when I ordered mine. They look great at night. It was a $125 option.

Could you tap off the awning power and add LEDs on a remote?

I was thinking you may be able to pull wires thru the wall using the wires for the awning.

It wasn't even on the option list for the build sheet we had. When I asked the salesman if they were standard (because they weren't on the build sheet) he told me they were.

For $125 I would have definitely ordered them had I known that I needed to specifically ask for them...

Doh!

That's one route I'm looking at for our front awning. Still not sure about the back awning.

The good thing about black is that it hides dirt and crap better then white or any other color.

I only knew because right before I ordered it I asked are there any other options that they would recommend.

Ask Thor for a drawing of where the structural ribs are in the sidewall. Hopefully, you can find a spot that will miss the ribs, yet be inside a cabinet so that you don't have to worry about wires showing.

This is one project on my to-do list. I bought the LED strip and wired controller 6 months ago. Now, I just have to have time to install it.

I want to do the same
DW loves the tacky lights.
I don't like putzing with them
so I would love a permanently mounted, switch operated solution.

sadly, the outlets outside is nowhere near the awning supports.

I have all but settled on wall mounting them just under the awning, so that they are usable even when the awning is up
but the problem is that means an LED strip
but DW likes the swaggy dangly things....

Someone here or another forum, suggested that I install some small eye bolts to the awning supports, o that a string equipped with hooks could easily be hung or removed.

Not a bad idea and it would be an easy out, had thor thought to put an outlet near the awning!

Go to eBay and buy a cheap USB camera that will attach to your laptop, I did this after trying unsuccessfully with a rigid wire and it worked so well.
