Replacement Shock Number

I have seen it somewhere, but naturally when I want to order, I cant find the Monroe replacement shock number for the Moryde IS system. Any ideas?

On Facebook.

I asked the other day about shocks for Morryde IS under my 40KSSB4 and the shock listed is P/N Monroe U1090-030 purchased from Morryde for $66 +$15 shipping or $81. After extensive search and some cross reference I found the exact same shock on Amazon for $38. P/N Monroe 555001 which is marketed by Monroe for 5th wheels.

The Monroe shock that comes on DRV's is their cheaper line I believe Made in Mexico.

The 555001 is their best and US Made. It's yellow. Rock auto $32.79 ea.

I can't get your number to show up on Monroe's site or on a search.

I hope you didn't buy from MORryde!

It sounds like they did. I still have the OE shocks on mine.

The stock number on the shocks is U0109-030

Here is a quote from MORryde.

"Good afternoon.
You can order those shocks from us. The part number is UO109-030 and your cost would be $65.99 and we have these in stock.
Or you can get these from a local parts dealer, Monroe pn# 555001.
Thank you, Jennifer"

Thanks for the replies. What was confusing was a diagram I saw that was said to be from Moryde that showed the measurements for the shock. In the small print at the bottom was to add 1.5" for rubber grommets and washers. I'll go with the 555001. Thanks again.

Wow, saved by doing a search

I just contacted DRV about buying four shocks. Jennifer quoted me $69.99 each plus shipping. I just found them from Carid for $28.27 each with free shipping. These are the Monroe pn# 555001. A nice purty yellow. Thanks for posting this information.

Jennifer didn't give me the Monroe part number. Luckily I found it here and will be saving about $160 plus shipping.

I realize that I am resurrecting an ancient thread, but thought that I would use it rather than start a new one. I have a '17 36RSSB3 with 8k MorRyde that weighs about 18.5k. Does the 555001 fit all MorRyde suspensions or is that just for 9K? I just passed the 5 year mark on my DRV, what is the life of the OEM shocks? The trailer probably has 25k miles on it.

That is the ONLY one they use on IS . Fits all models and Carid is the cheapest source

Thank you, ARC. Now, can you shed light on the life of the shock?

Hate to say it but I agree with him.

Yes the Carid is the best place to buy and they are US Made unlike the OE units.

We replaced both of ours last Summer at my place.

Thank you, cummins. The Amazon web site lists this shock as Made in China, but I contacted Monroe, and they confirm that it is made in AR. CarID's price is ~$36 and with shipping, total for four is $168, delivered in 4-5 days. Amazon price is $176 (with 5% discount) delivered tomorrow. For me, it's always easier dealing with Amazon.

Good deal!

A sawzall works great cutting the nuts off and saves a lot of time and frustration.

Appreciate the tip. At what time did you replace yours? Miles or years?
