Rotted floors, leaking slides in DRV's?

What is with all the leaking slides and rotted floors on DRV's? I have had many different 5th wheels and have never had a slide leak or heard of as many leaking slides as I have since joining the DRV family. I have one slide that leaks when in and one that leaks when out. Hope to have both fixed soon.

Dave

We will be heading up to Indiana to have our bedroom slide floor replaced. Not sure what caused it, as we purchased the rig knowing it had a problem. I am assuming it is caused by the L brackets that attach to both the side of the slide and the bottom outside floor. Since there is no problem inside the rig, that is the only reason I can come up with!

Where are you seeing these leaks?

Water on the floor, wet carpets, wet walls ?

Duane, it is under the floor where the rollers are. It is the slick plastic like covering on the bottom of the slide. When you push up on the bottom, there are places that are soft, hence had been wet at some time or another. Where the floor is soft, the slide doesn't sit square in the opening. Will be posting photos when we bring our rig up to Indiana Interstate RV on the repair process at the end of this month. I'm curious as to the actual cause myself.
